Exposure to warfare and demoralization: acute stress symptoms and disengaged coping as mediators by Svetlana Baziliansky, Wafaa Sowan

    Published 2025-12-01
“…Additionally, individuals with acute stress disorder had higher demoralization. The serial mediation model showed partial mediation: acute stress symptoms and the use of disengaged coping mediated the relationships between indirect exposure to war and demoralization (although the direct association between the extent of exposure and demoralization remained significant). Conclusions: In the face of traumatic events, such as warfare, professionals should identify individuals with high levels of acute stress symptoms and provide help to reduce the use of disengaged coping and long-term negative consequences such as demoralization.…”

Mediators of Inflammation and Their Effect on Resident Renal Cells: Implications in Lupus Nephritis by Susan Yung, Kwok Fan Cheung, Qing Zhang, Tak Mao Chan

    Published 2013-01-01
“…It is characterized by a breakdown of immune tolerance, production of autoantibodies, and deposition of immune complexes within the kidney parenchyma, resulting in local inflammation and subsequent organ damage. To date, numerous mediators of inflammation have been implicated in the development and progression of lupus nephritis, and these include cytokines, chemokines, and glycosaminoglycans. …”

Dark matter annihilation via Breit-Wigner enhancement with heavier mediator by Yu Cheng, Shao-Feng Ge, Jie Sheng, Tsutomu T. Yanagida

    Published 2025-02-01
“…We propose a new scenario that both the dark matter freeze-out in the early Universe and its possible annihilation for indirect detection around a supermassive black hole are enhanced by a Breit-Wigner resonance. With the mediator mass larger than the total initial dark matter mass, this annihilation is almost forbidden at late times. …”
