Effects of Land Use Change on Chlorophyll Concentration in Shahe River Basin of Tianmu Lake in the Past 20 Years by GONG Xiangfeng, XU Shougang, MENG Dinghua, MAO Jinqiao, GU Xiaohan, ZHU Shijie

    Published 2023-01-01
“…The Shahe River Basin of Tianmu Lake provides drinking, irrigation, tourism, fishery, and other functions, which plays a crucial role in regional ecological security. In view of the actual demand and pressure of coexisting protection and development in this region, this study aims to make clear the comprehensive impact of regional eutrophication and human activities on the main water environmental factors in the reservoir area.Satellite remote sensing images and monitored chlorophyll-a concentrations in 2001,2011,and 2021 were used as basic data for research:① During the study period, the basin was in a state of moderate eutrophication.② According to remote sensing images, the land types in the Tianmu Lake area can be divided into water body, forest land, grassland, cultivated land, building land, and bare land. The cultivated land area was increased by 83% due to human activities.③ A correlation analysis was conducted between the area of each land use type and the change of chlorophyll-a concentration (the key index of water quality objective management) in the reservoir area. The results show that chlorophyll-a concentration is positively correlated with the areas of water body, forest land, building land, and cultivated land and negatively correlated with the areas of grassland and bare land. The correlation coefficients of chlorophyll-a concentration with the areas of building land and cultivated land are 0.536 and 0.773,respectively,which both influenced the water environment of the reservoir area to a certain extent. There is a close relationship between land use and water environment protection in the Shahe River Basin, which can provide important reference for the system planning and protection of the reservoir area.…”

Variation Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Reference Crop Evapotranspiration in Guangdong Province under Climate Change by HUANG Song, DAI Jiaqi, ZHAO Baoshan, LIU Na, LI Hui, CHU Huaping

    Published 2023-01-01
“…To explore the temporal and spatial variation characteristics of reference crop evapotranspiration (ET0) in Guangdong Province under climate change and its influencing factors, based on the surface observation data of 37 meteorological stations in Guangdong Province during 1980—2020,the FAO-56 Penman-Monteith method was applied to calculate the daily ET0 of each meteorological station. In addition, this research systematically analyzed the temporal and spatial variation characteristics of ET0 in Guangdong Province and quantitatively studied the influence degree of various meteorological factors on ET0 by using sensitivity and contribution rate analysis methods. The results show that in terms of time scale, the annual average ET0 in Guangdong Province is 1 150 mm,and it shows a significant increasing trend at the rate of 14.84 mm/10a.In terms of spatial scale,ET0 in Guangdong Province shows an increasing trend from north to south, with a variation range of 1 069~1 235 mm.ET0 is more sensitive to relative humidity and temperature than sunshine duration and wind speed. The contribution rate analysis shows that temperature is the dominant factor for ET0 variation in Guangdong Province, followed by sunshine duration, relative humidity, and wind speed. The potential increase in temperature combined with the decrease in relative humidity can lead to higher ET0 and drought events in the future. This study can provide a scientific basis for water resources planning and agricultural irrigation management in Guangdong Province.…”

Identification of Main Driving Factors of Water Resources Carrying Capacity in Taiyuan City by DING Xiangyi, SHI Xiaolin, WANG Xiangqian, MEI Chao

    Published 2022-01-01
“…Utilizing the existing evaluation results of the water resources carrying capacity of Taiyuan City, this paper qualitatively analyzed its driving factors of the city, which was based on the analysis of the critical overload/overloading causes of various dimensions including quantity, quality, domain and flow and the consideration of the current situation of water resources in Taiyuan City. The paper also quantitatively identified the driving factors influencing the water resources carrying capacity of Taiyuan City with a combination weighting method of principal component analysis, analytic hierarchy process and entropy weight method.Further, making full use of the respective advantages of qualitative analysis and quantitative identification of driving factors, the paper took the common influencing factors as the main driving factors of the water resources carrying capacity of Taiyuan City. The results indicated that the main driving factors influencing the various dimensions of water resources carrying capacity in the city included the followings:①water quantity dimension:precipitation, per capita water resources, ratio of imported water to consumed water, groundwater extraction coefficient, coefficient of effective utilization of farmland irrigation water, water consumption per 10 000 yuan of industrial added value and wastewater utilization rate;②water quality dimension:water quality compliance rate of water function zone, proportion of water quality inferior to Grade V;③water domain dimension:soil erosion control rate;④water flow dimension:proportion of river ecological water replenishment. The research results can provide references for the plan formulation of improving water resources carrying capacity in Taiyuan City.…”

Impacts of Water Consumption in the Haihe Plain on the Climate of the Taihang Mountains, North China by Jing Zou, Chesheng Zhan, Ruxin Zhao, Peihua Qin, Tong Hu, Feiyu Wang

    Published 2018-01-01
“…The impacts of water consumption activities in the Haihe Plain were more obvious during the irrigation seasons (primarily spring and summer). In addition, the land surface variables in the Taihang Mountains, e.g., sensible and latent heat fluxes, were less sensitive to the climatic impacts due to the water consumption activities in the Haihe Plain because they were strongly affected by local surface energy balance.…”
