Mechanical properties of Portland cement concrete mixed with different doses of recycled brick powder and steel fiber
Published 2025-01-01“…Due to the high variability of impact data, a two-parameter Weibull distribution was applied to provide a more robust statistical interpretation of the results. The findings revealed that 5 % RBP in plain concrete caused slight reductions in mechanical properties, with decreases of 1.48 % in compressive, 1.12 % in flexural, 1.42 % in tensile, 3.19 % in first crack, and 3.03 % in failure strengths. …”

Effect of thiamine supplementation on glycaemic outcomes in adults with type 2 diabetes: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Published 2022-08-01“…Benfotiamine reduced triglyceride level (MD, −1.10; 95% CI: −1.90 to –0.30) in 120 mg/day dose as compared with placebo 150 mg/day, however this was not demonstrated in higher doses.Discussion Limitations of evidence: Inclusion of single-centre trials published only in English, small sample sizes of included studies, lack of trials investigating outcomes for same comparisons and varying follow-up periods. Interpretation: Thiamine supplementation does not affect glycaemic outcomes, however reduces triglycerides while increasing HDL. …”

Investigating ITM2B‐associated ataxia in a Taiwanese cerebellar ataxia cohort
Published 2025-01-01“…Magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy revealed progressive extension of white matter hyperintensity over periventricular and subcortical regions, subtle hippocampal atrophy, preserved cerebellar volumes, and decreased N‐acetylaspartate/creatine ratio over the vermis. Interpretation ITM2B mutations accounted for 1.4% of cerebellar ataxia cases in the Taiwanese cohort, with patients carrying ITM2B c.800G>T descending from a common ancestor. …”

Phosphate rebinding induces force reversal via slow backward cycling of cross-bridges
Published 2025-01-01“…The observed force-[Pi], force-log [Pi], kTR-[Pi], and kTR-force relations were assessed with various single-pathway models of the cross-bridge cycle that differed in sequence and kinetics of reversible Pi release, reversible force-generating step and reversible rate-limiting transition. Based on the interpretation that kTR reflects the sum of rate-limiting transitions in the cross-bridge cycle, an indicator, the coupling strength, was defined to quantify the contribution of Pi binding induced force reversal to the rate-limiting transition f– from the [Pi]-modulated kTR-force relation.ResultsIncreasing [Pi] decreased force by a bi-linear force-log [Pi] relation, increased kTR in a slightly downward curved dependence with [Pi], and altered kTR almost reciprocally to force reflected by the kTR-force relation. …”
