An ultra-simplified protocol for PCR template preparation from both unsporulated and sporulated Eimeria oocysts
Published 2025-03-01“…Generally, the preparation of PCR template involves three main steps: (1) pretreatment of oocysts; (2) disruption of oocysts; and (3) purification of genomic DNA. We prepared PCR templates from both unsporulated and sporulated E. tenella oocysts using various protocols, followed by species-specific PCR to define the limit of detection. …”

Social context affects tissue-specific copper distribution and behaviour of threespine stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus)
Published 2025-01-01“…The objective of this study was to investigate whether inducing social stress in marine threespine stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus) through social isolation during a sublethal water-borne copper (Cu) exposure would affect Cu uptake and whether that would translate to differences in behaviour and biochemical functioning. We hypothesized that isolating threespine stickleback during a Cu exposure would increase Cu uptake and sublethal toxicity compared to a grouped exposure. …”

Changes in target setting for major epidemic emergency response in China before and after COVID-19 epidemic: an official documents analysis
Published 2024-10-01“…ObjectiveTo analyze changes in target setting for emergency response to major disease epidemics in China before and after the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, summarize strengths and weaknesses in target setting, and provide a basis for improving target setting for emergency response to major disease epidemics in China. MethodsWe systematically retrieved a total of 3 864 policy documents (including plans, laws and regulations, and work programs) related to the prevention and control of major epidemics issued by government agencies of 31 provincial-level administrative divisions (PLADs) in Chinese mainland from 2000 to 2020. …”

Understanding Dioxygen Activation in the Fe(III)-Promoted Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Amines: A Computational Study
Published 2025-01-01“…Hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions are fundamental in chemistry and essential for all living organisms. We employ density functional theory (DFT) to understand the reaction mechanism of the oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of the pyridyl-amine complex [FeIIIL3]3+ (L3, 1,9-bis(2′-pyridyl)-5-[(ethoxy-2″-pyridyl)methyl]-2,5,8-triazanonane) to the mono-imine complex [FeIIL4]2+ (L4, 1,9-bis(2′-pyridyl)-5-[(ethoxy-2″-pyridyl)methyl]-2,5,8-triazanon-1-ene) in the presence of dioxygen. …”

Comparison of PD-L1 tumor cell expression with 22C3, 28-8, and SP142 IHC assays across multiple tumor types
Published 2022-10-01“…Background Multiple PD-L1 immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays, including DAKO 22C3, DAKO 28-8, and Ventana SP142 PD-L1 IHC assays, have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a companion diagnostic (CDx) for various antiprogrammed death-1 and antiprogrammed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) based cancer immunotherapies. Here we present 22C3, 28-8, and SP142 analysis of 418 tumor specimens encountered in routine clinical practice. Methods All specimens were tested with 22C3, 28-8, and SP142 assays following the manufacturer’s established staining protocols. Results The same PD-L1 status (defined as tumor cell expression (TC) scores with all three assays ≥1% or all <1%) was observed in 60.0% (251/418) tumor specimens (45.9% (192/418) were triple negative and 14.1% (59/418) were triple positive). …”
