Three local plants adapt to ecological restoration of abandoned lead-zinc mines through assembly of rhizosphere bacterial communities
Published 2025-02-01“…IntroductionThe plant restoration and ecological restoration of lead-zinc mines are very important.MethodsIn this study, we used three local plants to carry out ecological restoration of abandoned lead–zinc mining areas and detected the adaptive mechanisms of soil bacterial diversity and function during the ecological restoration of lead–zinc mines through 16S rRNA sequencing.ResultsThe results revealed that lead-zinc mining significantly reduced the soil bacterial diversity, including the Shannon, Simpson, and observed species indices, whereas the planting of the three ecological restoration plants restored the soil microbial diversity to a certain extent, leading to increases in the Shannon index and Observed species indices. …”

Anti-Inflammatory Effects of Ellagic Acid on Acute Lung Injury Induced by Acid in Mice
Published 2013-01-01“…Ellagic acid, a compound present in several fruits and medicinal plants, has shown anti-inflammatory activity in several experimental disease models. We used the nonlethal acid aspiration model of ALI in mice to determine whether preventive or therapeutic administration of ellagic acid (10 mg/kg; oral route) could interfere with the development or establishment of ALI inflammation. …”

Association between the atherogenic index of plasma and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in Korean pregnant women: secondary analysis of a prospective cohort study
Published 2025-01-01“…The subjects included in the study had an average AIP of 0.22 (0.11, 0.37), and NAFLD occurred in 110 (18.8%) pregnant women. We observed a positive linear association between AIP and NAFLD (OR = 1.33, 95% CI: 1.19–1.48), which persisted after adjusting for potential confounders (OR = 1.2, 95% CI: 1.06–1.37). …”

Integrated analysis of cell cycle and p53 signaling pathways related genes in breast, colorectal, lung, and pancreatic cancers: implications for prognosis and drug sensitivity for...
Published 2024-12-01“…Cancer progression often involves disruption in cell cycle regulation and signaling pathways, with mutations in genes like TP53, EGFR, and K-RAS playing significant roles. In this study, we analyzed gene expression datasets to identify common molecular signatures across breast, colorectal, lung and pancreatic cancers. …”

Predictive Value of Initial 18F-FDG PET/CT for Identifying EGFR and KRAS Mutations in Patients with Non-small-cell Lung Cancer
Published 2024-11-01“…Aim: Since the importance of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog gene (KRAS) mutation status in predicting treatment response in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients is well known, we aimed to evaluate whether initial fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging could non-invasively predict EGFR or KRAS mutation states in this patient group. …”

Inhibition of the Ubiquitin-Activating Enzyme UBA1 Suppresses Diet-Induced Atherosclerosis in Apolipoprotein E-Knockout Mice
Published 2020-01-01“…In vitro, PYR-41 blunted ox-LDL-induced lipid deposition and expression of proinflammatory cytokines (Il-1β and Il-6) and NADPH oxidases (Nox1, Nox2, and Nox4) in cultured RAW264.7 macrophages. Conclusions. We demonstrated that UBA1 expression was upregulated and mainly derived from macrophages in the atherosclerotic plaques and inactivation of UBA1 by PYR-41 suppressed atherosclerosis development probably through inhibiting macrophage proinflammatory response and oxidative stress. …”

Functional genomics implicates ebony in the black pupae phenotype of tephritid fruit flies
Published 2025-01-01“…In tephritids, understanding the molecular basis of mutant traits is also crucial for applied entomology, enabling the creation of genetic sexing strains through genome editing, thus facilitating sex-sorting before sterile insect releases. Here, we present evidence from classical and modern genetics showing that the black pupae (bp) phenotype in the GUA10 strain of Anastrepha ludens is caused by a large deletion at the ebony locus, removing the gene’s entire coding region. …”
