Oxidative impact on lipoprotein structure: Insights from dynamic light scattering
Published 2025-03-01“…Here it is demonstrated that dynamic light scattering (DLS) is sensitive and effective at measuring variation in lipoprotein size distributions following oxidative damage caused by peroxidation and nitration—two common physiological processes that play dual roles in both normal and pathogenic states. We establish the utility of DLS in detecting subtle variations in lipoprotein size, including potential aggregation and fission events resulting from chemical modifications. …”

Optimising subsurface integrity and surface quality in mild steel turning: A multi-objective approach to tool wear and machining parameters
Published 2025-03-01“…This study investigates the impact of machining parameters and tool dynamics on mild steel degradation of surface quality and subsurface, including heat effects, deformation, and microstructural changes that lead to microcracks and work hardening. Firstly, we examined the individual impacts of cutting velocity (Vc), feeding rate (f), and depth of cut (ap) on surface roughness and surface topography. …”

Fostering unsustainability? An analysis of 4-year-olds' dietary impacts in Sweden
Published 2025-01-01“…It employed the Sustainability Assessment of Foods And Diets tool to quantify these impacts against per capita 1000 kcal planetary boundaries and variations in dietary impacts based on factors such as gender, municipal area, parental education level, and consumption setting (home or preschool). We found that the mean dietary impacts fell within or exceeded the uncertainty zone per capita planetary boundaries for five out of six indicators, with only blue water use remaining within the ‘safe space’; notably, zero children had eaten below the uncertainty levels for all indicators. …”

Phosphorus Fertilization and Chemical Root Pruning: Effects on Root Traits During the Nursery Stage in Two Mediterranean Species from Central Chile
Published 2025-01-01“…Accordingly, nursery practices like phosphorous (P) fertilization and root pruning have been shown to modify root architecture; however, their combined benefits require further investigation in Mediterranean species. We evaluated the effect of applied P concentrations (0, 15, 60, and 120 mg L−1 P) with or without chemical (copper) root pruning (WCu, WoCu, respectively) in <i>Aristotelia chilensis</i> and <i>Quillaja saponaria</i> on morpho-physiological and root architecture traits. …”
