A Critical Analysis of the Relationship between"Meta-Philosophy" and "Methodology"A Critique on the Book The End of the Philosophy of Religion
Published 2021-09-01“…Trakakis examines the examples of thinkers from these two traditions and concludes that the religious philosophy in the analytical tradition seeks to assume a particular point of view in metaphilosophy and philosophical methodology, within the narrow confines on scientifically rationalized and logical arguments - independent of the concrete and existential concerns of human life. While introducing analytical key themes in his book The End of the Philosophy of Religion, this paper critique the Trakakis 's views from a methodological point of view and its relationship to metaphilosoph.…”

How can Green Public Procurement contribute to Social Sustainability?
Published 2025-01-01“…As a result, the promotion of the social impact of public procurement is often limited to matters in which the European Union legislates —the labour feld— or to the more primary dimensions of constitutionality associated with the principle of equality and Human Rights. Our re?ection therefore aims to go beyond what European case law and directives enshrine and recognise, asking whether environmental policies might contribute to social sustainability as well. …”

Age-Dependent Differences in Systemic and Cell-Autonomous Immunity to L. monocytogenes
Published 2013-01-01“…The systemic immune response to Listeria monocytogenes has been studied extensively in murine models; however, the clinical applicability of these findings to the human newborn remains incompletely understood. Furthermore, the ability to control infection at the level of an individual cell, known as “cell-autonomous immunity,” appears most relevant following infection with L. monocytogenes; as the main target, the monocyte is centrally important to innate as well as adaptive systemic immunity to listeriosis. …”

Measurement and modeling of wireless body area network propagation characteristics of indoor environment at 10 GHz
Published 2022-03-01“…To explore the feasibility of high-frequency in indoor wireless body area network (WBAN) communication, the propagation characteristics of 10 GHz for WBAN in indoor scenario was given.Based on a large number of measurement data, the path loss, the shadow effect and the root-based delay spread of the 10 GHz were present, and a novel path loss model with the body angle was proposed, which utilizes the body angular factor to correct the path loss caused by the change of body angle.Meanwhile, the influence of receiving antenna at different heights of body on path loss was analyzed.Research results show that the path loss exponent has a quadratic function relationship with the body angle, the relationship between the path loss (PBA) caused by the body angle and the body angle can be expressed by a trigonometric function with a coefficient, which has a monotonously decreasing exponential function relationship with the distance between the receiving and sending ends.In addition, when the body is at different angles, the effect of the receiving ends in the human body on the path loss is smaller than when there is no body rotation angle. The above research results can provide the theoretical and practical basis for the use of 10 GHz indoor wireless body area network in the future.…”

Seasonality and the effectiveness of mass vaccination
Published 2015-11-01“…., an annual rainy season) or human behavior (e.g., school calendars or seasonal migration). If a pathogen is only transmissible for a limited period of time each year, then seasonal outbreaks could infect fewer individuals than expected given the pathogen's in-season transmissibility.Influenza, with its short serial interval and long season, probably spreads throughout a population until a substantial fraction of susceptible individuals are infected.Dengue, with a long serial interval and shorter season, may be constrained by its short transmission season rather than the depletion of susceptibles.Using mathematical modeling, we show that mass vaccination is most efficient,in terms of infections prevented per vaccine administered,at high levels of coverage for pathogens that have relatively long epidemicseasons, like influenza, and at low levels of coverage for pathogens with short epidemic seasons, like dengue. Therefore, the length of a pathogen's epidemic season may need to beconsidered when evaluating the costs and benefits of vaccination programs.…”
