Study on Lateral Bearing Characteristics of Geotextile Bag Retaining Wall of Two-Stage Slope by GUAN Xiaodi, QIN Zexuan

    Published 2022-01-01
“…Under the background of the rapid development of high-speed traffic and the popularization of low-carbon life, the ecological slope protection technology with geotextile bags has attracted wide attention. To investigate the lateral bearing characteristics of two-stage slopes supported by the geotextile bag retaining wall,we conduct lateral non-uniform loading tests of a two-stage slope under the conditions of inclined support,L-shaped support, and reverse-slope L-shaped support. The analysis of the tests indicates that the horizontal displacement of the two-stage slope is greater than that of a one-stage slope, and the earth pressure increases with the increase in wall height.Through the comparison of test results,it is found that with the slope with inclined support as a reference, the arch height of the slope top is increased by 22.2% and 59.3% in the case of L-shaped support and reserve-slope L-shaped support, respectively, and the earth pressure at the two-stage slope toe is increased by 11.1% and 19.2%,with that at the one-stage slope toe increased by 24.7% and 35.8%,respectively.The failure mode analysis shows that the failure of the two-stage slope occurs before that of the one-stage slope, which is a sliding failure, and the sliding surface is a circular arc. Finally, the correctness of the model test results is verified by ABAQUS.…”

Study on Structure and Seepage Control Safety of Second-Phase Cofferdam in Datengxia Water Conservancy Project by ZUO Yongzhen, CHEN Liang, XU Han, LI Bo, CHEN Jinsong

    Published 2023-01-01
“…The second-phase earth-rock cofferdam in the Datengxia Water Conservancy Project is one of the most important temporary buildings, and its design and construction reflect major key technologies of the Datengxia Water Conservancy Project. In order to ensure the safety of the second-phase deepwater cofferdam project,a special scientific research demonstration was conducted on the structure and seepage control safety of the second-phase deepwater cofferdam. In view of the difficulty in determining the density of the cofferdam formed by deepwater dumping and the feasibility of the anti-seepage system with a single anti-seepage wall connected to the geomembrane, experimental research was carried out through the centrifugal model test,so as to determine the underwater dumping density and angle of repose, the mechanical characteristics of cofferdam filler, the shear characteristics of the interface between filler and plastic concrete, and the characteristics of plastic concrete materials. The finite element analysis of stress deformation and the seepage stability analysis of the cofferdam were carried out,and the safety analysis evaluation and the section optimization design of the cofferdam were performed. The second-phase cofferdam has undergone two flood seasons of safe water retention operation, with a small total seepage flow, slight maximum settlement, and low horizontal displacement. The scientific research work has well supported the design requirements.…”

Exploiting Attitude Sensing in Vision-Based Navigation for an Airship by Luiz G. B. Mirisola, Jorge Dias

Dynamic Model Test Based on Shaking Table of Wudongde High Arch Dam by XIONG Kun, HU Qingyi, CAO Quxiu

    Published 2023-01-01
“…At present, there are few examples of high arch dams subjected to earthquakes in China and abroad, and there is a lack of sufficient and effective observation data of prototype seismic damage.Based on the shaking table dynamic model test, the seismic behaviors and damage process are studied for the 270 m-high Wudongde arch dam.The dam’s seismic failure mode of the dam body and structural seismically weak parts under strong earthquakes are compared and its seismic safety is evaluated. The results show that the model test analysis can obtain natural vibration characteristics and dynamic responses such as acceleration, dynamic strain, and transverse joint aperture under earthquakes, which are consistent with the numerical calculation results.Under extremely strong earthquakes, there are local cracks with limited extension depth near the foundation surface of the dam.The main damage area lies in the middle and upper part of the dam body, and horizontal macroscopic cracks occur in the area within about 1/3 of the height below the dam crest connecting the upstream and downstream. It is proved that the Wudongde high arch dam has a better stress condition,a smaller transverse joint aperture, and a higher ultimate seismic capacity under the design and calibrated earthquakes.…”

Study on Magneto-rheological Damper Control of the Gear System Shafting Vibration by Wang Kai, He Lidong, Xing Jian, Hu Hangling

    Published 2015-01-01
“…In order to solve the problem that gearbox vibration and noise are too large, aparallel shafts system bench with gears is established to simulate the gearbox. One self-designed magnetorheological damper is installed at each shaft.Different working conditions are set to study the influences at different operating current of dampers. The acceleration sensor is used to measure the gearbox vibration in experiments, the influence of magneto-rheological damper on gear transmission shafting vibration is studied from the gearbox body vibration. The results show that the damper can reduce the vibration of the gearbox body, and the decreasing amplitude is rising with the damper working current increases. The decline of the vertical vibration is up to 30%,and the decline of the horizontal vibration is up to 40%.Through the analysis of time and frequency domain waveform,it is found that the04 000 Hz frequency component of vibration can be reduced by using magneto-rheological damper, especially the vibration amplitude of lower 1000 Hz component can be reduced by 60%,the vibration amplitude of around 3000 Hz component can be reduced by 80%.Application of magneto-rheological damper can change current to adapt to different conditions by monitoring the gear box vibration damper, which can keep the vibration of the gearbox low.…”
