Assessing the neuroprotective potential of Eucalyptus globulus essential oil in a 6-hydroxydopamine rat model of Parkinson's disease
Published 2025-03-01“…We evaluated tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and dopamine transporter (DAT) expression in the brain caudate-putamen unit; inflammatory cytokine (TNF-α, IL-6) expression in the hippocampus; liver, kidney, and gut histology; serum parameters; and hepatic lipid content. Results: Our findings indicate that EuEO is mainly composed of 1,8-cineole (81.8 %) and that, in the parkinsonian rats, it improved impairments in spatial memory, motor performance, and strength; increased TH and DAT protein content; decreased TNF-α expression; diminished liver lipid content and body weight gain without changes in the rats’ food/water consumption or their serum lipid levels; diminished transaminase and alkaline phosphatase activity, and the albumin/globulin ratio. …”

Substituting Fish Meal with Tubiechong (Eupolyphaga sinensis) By-Product in the Diets of Largemouth Bass (Micropterus salmoides): Effects on Growth, Meat Quality, and Liver Health
Published 2023-01-01“…Conclusively, the present study indicated that the partial dietary replacement of fish meal using the Tubiechong by-product (for up to 40% replacement level) in the diet of largemouth bass not only caused no adverse effects on fish health but also improved the growth performance, meat quality, antioxidant capacity, and hepatic health and is conducive to supplying nutritious, high-quality, and healthy aquatic products.…”

Evaluation of the effects of Keratinase-treated feather meal as a replacement for fishmeal on growth performance, liver function, and intestinal health in juvenile largemouth bass...
Published 2025-03-01“…Besides, the expression of fatty acid synthetase (fas) gene presented a linearly increased difference with the increasing KFM concentrations (P = 0.001), whereas the expression of adipose triglyceride lipase (atgl) gene was linearly decreased (P = 0.000), resulting in hepatic lipid accumulation in largemouth bass. Furthermore, there was a significant enhancement of antioxidant capacity along with oxidative stress in liver of largemouth bass with the increasing KFM concentration (P < 0.05). …”

Isoxazole-based molecules restore NK cell immune surveillance in hepatocarcinogenesis by targeting TM4SF5 and SLAMF7 linkage
Published 2025-01-01“…We investigated how TM4SF5-mediated hepatic tumorigenesis avoids surveillance by natural killer (NK) cells, which are prevalent in the liver, and whether the avoidance can be blocked by anti-TM4SF5 agents. …”
