Comparative study of Baduanjin and brisk walking on balance and stability in older adults
Published 2025-03-01“…Results: (1) For the eyes-open two-legged standing posture, the center of pressure (COP) was more centralized in the Baduanjin group; the swaying range of the body, forward and backward displacement, and left and right displacement among the elderly individuals in this group were significantly lower than those of the other two groups. (2) In the tests for two-legged standing, one-legged standing, and tandem feet stance, the elderly in the Baduanjin group had significantly lower swaying trajectory of the center of gravity, body swaying ellipse area, and maximum vibration parameters than those in the brisk walking and control groups. (3) The 2nd pose of Baduanjin, which involves a considerable amount of knee bending and semi-squatting exercises for the lower limbs, proved to be beneficial for the lower limb joints and body balance among the elderly. …”

Unraveling drivers and patterns of species richness in coastal marine ecosystem under global warming: Insights from ecosystem connectivity
Published 2025-01-01“…Regime shift and correlation analyses suggest that environmental pressures are the primary stressors driving changes in HRE-NYB fish and macroinvertebrate richness, rather than fishing pressure. Using center of gravity and species-level dynamics analysis, we identified different temporal and spatial responses to warming temperature across estuary and marine habitats and between lower and higher trophic levels. …”

Harvesting Baltic Microalgae <i>Chlorella vulgaris</i> BA-167 Using Coagulant Flokor 1.2A via Static Sedimentation Under Auto- and Targeted Flocculation
Published 2025-01-01“…Flokor 1.2A facilitates the coagulation and agglomeration of microalgae cells, promoting the formation of larger aggregates (flocs) ranging from 20 μm to 690 μm, which settle more easily during gravity-driven sedimentation. Within the coagulant concentration range (<i>CF</i>) of 0.01–0.36 g/L, sedimentation time was reduced by 3–7 times, and algae harvesting efficiency exceeded 92%. …”

Characterization of diabetic kidney disease in 235 patients: clinical and pathological insights with or without concurrent non-diabetic kidney disease
Published 2025-01-01“…Clinical correlation analysis revealed associations between glomerular grading, tubulointerstitial lesions, renal arteriolar vitelliform lesions, renal vascular atherosclerosis, and clinical parameters such as 24-hour urine protein, hemoglobin, and urinary specific gravity. Multifactorial logistic regression analysis identified independent factors affecting DKD + NDKD, including body mass index, blood creatinine level, microscopic erythrocyte grade, urinary immunoglobulin G/creatinine ratio, and serum immunoglobulin A. …”

Observations of wind farm wake recovery at an operating wind farm
Published 2025-02-01“…., smaller velocity deficit) compared to LLJs below 250 m above ground level; (c) the largest momentum flux variability being observed during stable atmospheric conditions, with non-negligible variability observed during neutral and unstable atmospheric conditions; (d) detection of wake effects almost always being observed throughout the atmospheric boundary layer height; and finally (e) enhancement of wake recovery being observed in the presence of propagating gravity waves. These insights deepen our understanding of the intricate dynamics governing wake recovery in wind farms, advancing efforts to model and predict their behavior across varying atmospheric contexts. …”
