The Extraordinary Long-lasting Infrared Echo of PS16dtm Reveals an Extremely Energetic Nuclear Outburst
Published 2025-01-01“…., ∼6 × 10 ^46 erg s ^−1 for typical 0.1 μ m-sized silicate grain, is required to account for the IR echo. This work highlights the distinctive value of IR echoes in measuring the accurate intrinsic bolometric luminosity and thus the total radiated energy of TDEs, which could be severely underestimated by traditional methods, i.e., probably by more than 1 order of magnitude in PS16dtm. …”

Water phase distribution and its dependence on internal structure in soaking maize kernels: a study using low-field nuclear magnetic resonance and X-ray micro-computed tomography
Published 2025-01-01“…Although temporal dynamics of grain moisture and its functional and environmental determinants have been broadly demonstrated, we still do not have a comprehensive understanding of the distribution of water phase within a kernel.MethodsWe investigated the relationship between tissue structural traits, including embryo volume (EMBV), endosperm volume (ENDV), vitreous endosperm volume (VEV), floury endosperm volume (FEV), and water content in different phases, such as bound water, semi-bound water, and free water, in maize kernels under different cultivars, nitrogen application rates, and soaking durations by combining low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR) and X-ray microcomputed tomography (μ-CT) for kernels.ResultsThe results demonstrate that bound water is the major phase (57-82%) in maize kernels, and this proportion decreases with prolonged soaking duration. …”

Rice husk biochar and inorganic fertilizer amendment combination improved the yield of upland rice in typical soils of Southern Guinea Savannah of Nigeria
Published 2023-07-01“…Biochar amendment significantly (p≤0.01) improved rice seedling emergence (34.6%) and seed weight (5.8%) relative to control. The highest grain yield of 5.24 t/ha was recorded under 15 t/ha biochar application rate compared to 2.37 t/ha under control. Conclusion The application rate of 15 t/ha increased rice yield by 55.0% relative to the control, whereas at 25 t/ha the growth and yield were reduced.…”

Effects of <i>Marquandomyces marquandii</i> SGSF043 on the Germination Activity of Chinese Cabbage Seeds: Evidence from Phenotypic Indicators, Stress Resistance Indicators, Hormone...
Published 2024-12-01“…The results showed the following: (1) The coating agent <i>M. marquandii</i> SGSF043 could significantly improve the germination activity of Chinese cabbage seeds. (2) The strain concentration in the seed coating agent had different degrees of regulation on the antioxidase system of the buds, indicating that it could activate the antioxidant system and improve the antioxidant ability of the buds. (3) When the concentration of <i>M. marquandii</i> SGSF043 was 5.6 × 106 CFU/mL (average per grain), the effect of <i>M. marquandii</i> SGSF043 on the leaf hormones Indole Acetic Acid (IAA), Gibberellic Acid (GA) and Abscisic Acid (ABA) of Chinese cabbage seedlings was significantly higher than that of other treatment groups, indicating that the strain could optimize the level of plant hormones. (4) <i>M. marquandii</i> SGSF043 could induce the expression of stress-resistance-related genes in different tissue parts of Chinese cabbage and improve the growth-promoting stress resistance of buds. …”
