LHC Signals of the Next-to-Lightest Scalar Higgs State of the NMSSM in the 4τ Decay Channel
Published 2021-01-01“…We study the a1a1 and Za1 decay channels of the next-to-lightest CP-even Higgs boson h2 of the NMSSM at the LHC, where the h2 is produced in gluon fusion. It is found that while the h2 discovery is impossible through the latter channel, the former one in the 4τ final state is a promising channel to discover the h2 with masses up to around 250 GeV at the LHC. …”

A fragmentation-based study of heavy quark production
Published 2020-01-01“…In this work, we critically reconsider the validity of the widely-adopted approximation in which heavy quarks are generated at the matrix-element level, with special emphasis on the impact of the collinear logarithms associated with final-state heavy quark and gluon splittings. Our study, based on a perturbative fragmentation-function approach, explicitly shows that neglecting the resummation of collinear logarithms may yield inaccurate predictions, in particular when observables exclusive in the heavy quark degrees of freedom are considered. …”

Recent results on heavy flavours and quarkonia from ALICE
Published 2025-01-01“…Heavy-flavour hadrons, containing at least one charm or beauty quark, are excellent probes of the deconfined medium created in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions, known as quark–gluon plasma. Results in smaller collision systems, such as proton–proton and p–Pb collisions, besides representing an important baseline for interpreting heavy-ion measurements, are crucial to test perturbative QCD calculations and hadronisation mechanisms in the absence of hot medium effects, as well as to search for commonalities with heavy-ion systems. …”

First measurement of heavy flavour femtoscopy in Au+Au collisions at √sNN = 200 GeV by STAR
Published 2025-01-01“…In the very beginning stages of heavy-ion collisions, hard partonic scatterings yield heavy quarks, which go through the entire Quark-Gluon Plasma medium evolution. Femtoscopic correlation is characterized as a two particle correlation at low relative momentum that depends on the size of the region from which the correlated particles are emitted and on the final-state interaction. …”

Multiplicity and Rapidity Dependent Study of (Multi)-strange Hadrons in d+Au collisions using the STAR detector
Published 2025-01-01“…Strangeness enhancement has long been considered as a signature of the quark-gluon plasma formation in heavy-ion collisions. Strangeness enhancement has also been observed in small systems at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), but the underlying physics still needs to be fully understood. …”

Transverse momentum dependent parton densities in a proton from the generalized DAS approach
Published 2020-02-01“…Abstract We use the Bessel-inspired behavior of parton densities at small Bjorken x values, obtained in the case of the flat initial conditions for DGLAP evolution equations in the double scaling QCD approximation (DAS), to evaluate the transverse momentum dependent (TMD, or unintegrated) quark and gluon distribution functions in a proton. The calculations are performed analytically using the Kimber-Martin-Ryskin (KMR) prescription with different implementation of kinematical constraint, reflecting the angular and strong ordering conditions. …”
