Interannual Variations of Upwelling in the East Coastof Guangdong and Its Correlation with Fisheries
Published 2020-01-01“…Under the background of global warming, the interannual variation trend of coastalupwelling has become a research hotspot of global climate change in recent years. Based on thedata of temperature, chlorophyll concentration and wind field from 2002 to 2016, marine catches inGuangdong Province from 2010 to 2018, this paper studies the interannual variation trend ofintensity and center of upwelling along the east coast of Guangdong Province, and discusses therelationship between upwelling intensity and wind speed, marine catches and upwelling intensity. The results show that in the past 15 years, the intensity of upwelling in the east coast ofGuangdong Province is generally strengthened; the center of upwelling is at 23.6°~23.7°N in allprobability, and there is a trend of northward movement. The coastal wind plays an important rolein the interannual variation of upwelling; excluding the damage of fishing structure and otherfactors, the correlation between marine catches and upwelling in Guangdong Province is very high, and the correlation coefficient reaches to -0.81.…”

Forest Ecosystem Carbon Measurement Methods and Future Directions
Published 2024-01-01“…The forest ecosystem is a crucial component of terrestrial ecosystems, possessing the largest carbon reservoir on the Earth's surface. The fluctuations in its carbon stocks have a profound impact on the global carbon cycle. In the current context of a growing greenhouse effect and the rising occurrence of extreme climates, accurately estimating carbon stocks in the forest ecosystem and strengthening the construction monitoring system for its carbon stocks holds great significance for gaining an in-depth understanding of the global carbon cycle and predicting global climate change.Oriented toward strengthening the carbon sink function of forest ecosystems and achieving the dual carbon target, this paper systematically explained the mechanism of carbon sequestration in forest ecosystems. It analyzed and compared several mainstream methods of forest carbon estimation, proposing feasible strategies for building a forest carbon stock monitoring system in China. The aim is to provide a theoretical reference for the stable improvement of China's forest ecosystem carbon stock monitoring capacity and to provide scientific support for achieving the carbon peak and carbon neutrality in a timely manner.…”
