Multiple programmed cell death patterns predict the prognosis and drug sensitivity in gastric cancer
Published 2025-02-01“…The diverse patterns of programmed cell death (PCD) are significantly associated with the pathogenesis and progression of GC, and it has the potential to serve as prognostic and drug sensitivity indicators for GC.MethodThe sequencing data and clinical characteristics of GC patients were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas and GEO databases. LASSO cox regression method was used to screen feature genes and develop the PCD score (PCDS). …”

An approximate likelihood method reveals ancient gene flow between human, chimpanzee and gorilla
Published 2024-01-01“…Distinguishing between the two processes is a key objective of current evolutionary genomics. This is most often pursued via the so-called ABBA-BABA type of method, which relies on a prediction of symmetry of gene tree discordance made by the incomplete lineage sorting hypothesis. …”

The Systematic Analysis of Exercise Mechanism in Human Diseases
Published 2022-01-01“…To study and analyze the samples in the GSE18966 gene expression profile, we first performed an analysis on the differential expressed genes (DEGs) through GEO2R, and then the DEGs enrichment in Gene Ontology functions and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways through the Database for Annotation, Visualization and Integrated Discovery database was conducted. …”

Dynamic reprogramming of DNA methylation at an epigenetically sensitive allele in mice.
Published 2006-04-01“…Haplo-insufficiency for Mel18, a polycomb group protein, introduces epigenetic inheritance at a paternally derived A(vy) allele, and the pedigrees reveal that this occurs after zygotic genome activation and, therefore, despite the rapid demethylation of the locus.…”

hsa-miR-548d-3p: a potential microRNA to target nucleocapsid and/or capsid genes in multiple members of the Flaviviridae family
Published 2025-01-01“…To predict the right alignments between miRNA and viral mRNA genomes, we used computational databases such as miRBase, NCBI, and Basic Alignment Search Tool–nucleotides (BLAST-n).ResultsOf the 2,600 mature miRNAs, hsa-miR-548d-3p revealed complementary sequences with the flavivirus capsid gene and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) capsid gene and was selected as a possible candidate to inhibit flaviviruses.ConclusionAlthough more detailed in vitro and in vivo studies are required to test the possible inhibitory effects of hsa-miR-548d-3p against flaviviruses, this computational study may be the first step to study further, developing a novel therapeutic for lethal viruses within the Flaviviridae family using suggested candidate miRNAs.…”

Why Rights are Wrong in ASEAN and Beyond: A Critique of the Foundations of Universal Human Rights
Published 2020-05-01“…Part Two then examines whether the original axiomatic listing of human rights or an iteration of human rights founded upon the human genome or a Kantian underpinning can legitimise human rights and, if not, whether reference to the human soul made in the image of God with its natural law may substantiate the human rights project, perhaps, articulated as congruent with the purpose and design courts now recognise in the natural laws found in every ecosystem of nature. …”
