Spatial and Temporal Distribution of Precipitation Characteristics and Fitting Parameters in China by ZHOU Yu, ZHANG Yujia, MIAO Changsheng

“…In order to summarize the precipitation characteristics in China and explore the distribution of precipitation duration,this paper selects 56 years of continuous daily precipitation data from 698 meteorological stations in China and analyzes the spatial distribution and inter-annual variations of precipitation characteristics in terms of seasonal distribution,extreme characteristics,and precipitation duration.The paper also uses the Gamma distribution to fit the precipitation duration curves and estimate the parameters and analyzes the potential factors that affect the fitting parameters.The results show that ① the precipitation generally shows an increase in the southeast part and a decrease in the central part of China,with an increase and a wider distribution of winter precipitation in the east,northwest,and northeast parts.From the southeast to the northwest of China, the trend of precipitation percentile change shows an increase,then a decrease,and then an increase again,and the distribution of the 99-percentile precipitation thresholds is more uneven.The trend of the precipitation percentile at the Linhe station shows the greatest decrease,especially the wet-day precipitation percentile.The wet period is in a decreasing trend in the southwest and central parts and in an increasing trend in the coastal and northwestern parts.The distribution characteristics of drought and flooding durations in the basin show the opposite state in most regions,and the inter-annual variation of the wet period is smaller than that of the dry period.② The Gamma distribution has a better fitting effect on precipitation.The scale parameter β has a higher correlation with precipitation amount and precipitation percentile and better performance on extreme precipitation thresholds for heavy precipitation events.These findings can provide theoretical support for the subsequent research on precipitation processes based on physical influencing factors.…”

“…To address the issue of weak identification and low accuracy in recognizing features of target vehicles at different distances in road scene images, a vehicle feature recognition algorithm based on optimized convolutional neural network (CNN) was proposed.Firstly, a multi-scale input based on the PAN model was employed to capture target vehicle features at varying distances.Subsequently, improvements were made to the network model by incorporating multi-pool, batch normalization (BN) layers, and Leaky ReLU activation functions within the CNN architecture.Furthermore, the generalization ability of the network model was enhanced by introducing a hybrid attention mechanism that focuses on important features and regions in the vehicle image.Lastly, a multi-level CNN structure was constructed to achieve feature recognition for vehicles.Simulation experiment results conducted on the BIT-Vehicle database within a single scene show the proposed algorithm’s significant enhancements in single-object and multi-object recognition rates compared to CNN, R-CNN, ABC-CNN, Faster R-CNN, AlexNet, VGG16, and YOLOV8.Specifically, improvements of 16.75%, 10.9%, 4%, 3.7%, 2.46%, 1.3%, and 1% in single-object recognition, as well as 17.8%, 10.5%, 2.5%, 3.8%, 2.7%, 1.1%, and 1.3% in multi-object recognition, have been demonstrated by the proposed algorithm, respectively.Over the more complex UA-DETRAC datasets, more precise results have been also achieved by the proposed algorithm in recognizing target vehicles at various distances compared to other algorithms.…”

“…Affected by water,ruins of soil texture are prone to crack,crispness,salt accumulation,moss and other hazards,which is not conducive to their preservation.In order to find out the source of soil water damage in the soil site so as to provide a reliable basis for the preservation of this site,based on the refined hydrogeological survey,this paper used the Solinst Levelogger groundwater recorder and MW307GD-M4 wireless gradient soil three-parameter monitoring terminal to continuously monitor the water trend in vadose zone in a long time sequence,and analyse the cause and mechanism of water damage in the archeological shed.The results show that the moisture content of the vadose zone of the ruin is generally high,with that of the same layer outside the shed about 10% higher than that inside the shed,but the soil permeability coefficients mainly range from 2.07×10^-5 to 3.41×10^-5cm/s,suggesting the weak effect of the rainfall outside the shed on the soil in the shed through horizontal infiltration.The phreatic water level ranges from 3.2 to 5.6 m,with an amplitude of about 0.25 m within the hydrological year.The rising capillary water subject to its fluctuation can directly affect the excavation interface under extreme rainfall conditions as the main control factor of the water damage of the ruin of soil texture.By reference to the engineering-geological concept of “upstream flow interception,downstream flow discharge and local flow control”,regulating the moisture content of the soil body in the sacrificial area casts new light on the preservation of ruins of soil texture.…”
