Research on power efficient autonomous UAV navigation algorithm: an edge intelligence driven approach by Chunmin LIN, Liekang ZENG, Xu CHEN

    Published 2021-06-01
“…Autonomous drone navigation has received growing attention in the recent community.Compared with traditional navigation approaches which rely on location-based services highly, deep learning based visual methods have showed superior performance in self-adaption and generalization, which are a promising solution for autonomous navigation.Running the resource-hungry deep learning execution in the resource-constrained unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), however, significant challenges were presented in power efficiency. To tackle this challenge, following the idea of edge intelligence, a deep reinforcement learning approach was introduced to dynamically configure the computational scale of the deep learning model on UAV and hence realize the autonomous navigation with low latency and high energy efficiency.Evaluations based on both simulation and real prototype experiments show that the proposed approach has the less energy consumption, longer navigation trail and higher obstacle avoidance rate.…”

Application and Research of Three-Row Pile Retaining Structure in Key Project of Drainage Pumping Station by HU Xubao, YAN Yong

    Published 2022-01-01
“…Most of the wing walls at the connection section of forebays in key projects of drainage pumping stations are generally designed as cantilevers, buttresses,or box-type retaining wall structures and are equipped with temporary diversion and supporting measures, which thus require high project investment and long construction period. This paper took the Yaquewei water conservancy project as an example and optimized the scheme of wing walls between the pump station and the sluice at the connection section of the forebay of a large-scale drainage pumping station. After comparison and selection,it was recommended to adopt a three-row pile retaining structure, which is less used in water conservancy projects. The optimized scheme saves the project investment and shortens the construction period. At the same time,three-dimensional finite element numerical simulation technology and other means were used to compare the calculation results with the measured engineering data,so as to demonstrate the technical feasibility of the scheme and summarize the design experience.…”
