Research on power efficient autonomous UAV navigation algorithm: an edge intelligence driven approach
Published 2021-06-01“…Autonomous drone navigation has received growing attention in the recent community.Compared with traditional navigation approaches which rely on location-based services highly, deep learning based visual methods have showed superior performance in self-adaption and generalization, which are a promising solution for autonomous navigation.Running the resource-hungry deep learning execution in the resource-constrained unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), however, significant challenges were presented in power efficiency. To tackle this challenge, following the idea of edge intelligence, a deep reinforcement learning approach was introduced to dynamically configure the computational scale of the deep learning model on UAV and hence realize the autonomous navigation with low latency and high energy efficiency.Evaluations based on both simulation and real prototype experiments show that the proposed approach has the less energy consumption, longer navigation trail and higher obstacle avoidance rate.…”

An effective algorithm to identify the miscibility gap in a binary substitutional solution phase
Published 2020-01-01“…The method to detect the miscibility gap in terms of interaction parameters can be generalized to sublattice models. At last, a system of equations is developed to efficiently compute the Gibbs energy curve of a phase described with a sublattice model.…”

Anti-inflammatory actions of acupuncture
Published 2003-01-01“…Acupuncture has a beneficial effect when treating many diseases and painful conditions, and therefore is thought to be useful as a complementary therapy or to replace generally accepted pharmacological intervention. The attributive effect of acupuncture has been investigated in inflammatory diseases, including asthma, rhinitis, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, epicondylitis, complex regional pain syndrome type 1 and vasculitis. …”

Lived Poverty and the Fate of African Democracies
Published 2024-09-01“…The results indicate that poverty in Africa has a mixed effect on democracy more generally. In particular, the analysis indicates that the experience of poverty, which we have termed ‘lived poverty’, has a negative effect on demand and supply of democracy as well as on a number of attributes of political participation. …”

Stability of asymmetric Schwarzschild–Rindler–de Sitter thin shell wormhole
Published 2024-06-01“…The focus is on analyzing the linear stability of these wormholes by considering radial perturbations and utilizing the modified generalized Chaplygin gas equation of state. The specific case of an asymmetric wormhole connecting Schwarzschild–Rindler spacetime to Schwarzschild–Rindler–de Sitter space–time is analyzed using this formalism. …”

Application and Research of Three-Row Pile Retaining Structure in Key Project of Drainage Pumping Station
Published 2022-01-01“…Most of the wing walls at the connection section of forebays in key projects of drainage pumping stations are generally designed as cantilevers, buttresses,or box-type retaining wall structures and are equipped with temporary diversion and supporting measures, which thus require high project investment and long construction period. This paper took the Yaquewei water conservancy project as an example and optimized the scheme of wing walls between the pump station and the sluice at the connection section of the forebay of a large-scale drainage pumping station. After comparison and selection,it was recommended to adopt a three-row pile retaining structure, which is less used in water conservancy projects. The optimized scheme saves the project investment and shortens the construction period. At the same time,three-dimensional finite element numerical simulation technology and other means were used to compare the calculation results with the measured engineering data,so as to demonstrate the technical feasibility of the scheme and summarize the design experience.…”
