Key technologies of deep space TT&C and telecommunication for Mars exploration by Wenfeng MA, Cong WANG, Hui TIAN, Yi ZHU, Qiong YU, Hanyi SHI

    Published 2023-03-01
“…The implementation of China's deep space telemetry, track and command (TT&C) system has always revolved around the three-step strategy of the lunar exploration project, including “circling”, “falling” and “returning”, which helps us to make great achievements from the breakthrough of key technologies, the initial construction of the system to the optimization of the system. At present, the success of Mars exploration will further promote our ability of deep space TT&C system construction. In terms of the view of the key technologies of deep space response and the ground station system construction, the development process of China's deep space TT&C system from scratch was reviewed, and the key technologies of Mars deep space TT&C system were summarized. At the same time, in view of the advantages of the United States in planetary exploration, the deep space response technology of the “Perseverance” rover was analyzed and summarized, which can provide reference for the future development of Mars exploration in China.Furthermore, considering the construction of the US deep space station and the current rapidly growing demand for future deep space exploration missions, the system structure, overall performance, key system design issues and contributions of these Chinese deep space stations were briefly reviewed.…”

Traffic modeling for machine type communication and its overload control by Xin JIAN, Xiao-ping ZENG, Yun-jian JIA, Jun-yi YANG, Yuan HE

    Published 2013-09-01
“…Machine type communications (MTC),defined as machine to machine communication over cellular mobile network,is an integral part of future ubiquitous network and has broad application prospects and market potentials. To carry out the performance analysis of network in context of MTC applications,a Beta/M/1 queue model was proposed for modeling the network with MTC applications and its full performance analysis wer iven out by deducing the analytical expression of Beta distribution’s moment generation function,in which the shape parameters of Beta distribut are as-sumed to be integer. In addition,to handle the congestion caused by mass concurrent data and signaling transmission from many MTC devices, three overload control measures were also presented, that is:1) inter-class grouping techniques; 2) re-shaping the inter-arrival time distribution of MTC devices; 3) segment-wise uniform back-off scheme. The Beta/M/1 mod-el and segment-wise uniform back-off scheme proposed here can be used as a preliminary model for different MTC ap-plication scenarios and serve as a fundamental traffic model and overload control method for future ubiquitous network.…”
