Thermodynamic performance of organic rankine cycle based pumped thermal energy storage system with different working fluids
Published 2025-01-01“…The system's heat pump (HP) subcycle and Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) subcycle are equipped with regenerators to optimize system configuration and enhance efficiency. Five working fluids—R245fa, isobutane, isopentane, MM, and R1336mzz(Z)—are selected for analysis based on parametric evaporation temperature (T1) and thermal storage temperature (T8).Parameter analysis results reveal that both round-trip efficiency (ηptp) and exergy efficiency (ηex) increase with rising T1, with the system using MM demonstrating optimal performance: at T1 of 70 °C, ηptp reaches 71.34 %, and ηex is 37.42 %. …”

SOUND RADIATION ANALYSIS OF LOW ORDER VIBRATION MODES FROM A FINITE CYLINDRICAL SHELL IN DIFFERENT FLUIDS
Published 2015-01-01“…And then, the contributions of the low order vibration modes to the sound radiation and the radial quadratic velocity are also discussed in different fluids. The results show that more vibration modes contribute to the sound power of the finite cylindrical shells in air, however, the influence of the fluid-structure coupling on the radial squared velocity of the shells is very remarkable in water, the performance of the sound power radiated from the finite cylindrical shells is decreased with the increase of the circumferential vibration modes, and only first several vibration modes are required to accurately calculate the sound power.…”

Numerical Performance Investigation of Parabolic Dish Solar-Assisted Cogeneration Plant Using Different Heat Transfer Fluids
Published 2021-01-01“…Pressurized water, therminol VP1, and supercritical carbon dioxide are the examined working fluids in the parabolic dish solar collector. The aim of the current research is to observe the optimal operating conditions for each heat transfer fluid by varying inlet temperature and flow rate of the working fluid in the parabolic dish solar collector, and combination of these parameters is predicted to lead to the maximum energy and exergy efficiencies of the collector. …”

Forced ILW-Burgers Equation as a Model for Rossby Solitary Waves Generated by Topography in Finite Depth Fluids
Published 2012-01-01“…The paper presents an investigation of the generation, evolution of Rossby solitary waves generated by topography in finite depth fluids. The forced ILW- (Intermediate Long Waves-) Burgers equation as a model governing the amplitude of solitary waves is first derived and shown to reduce to the KdV- (Korteweg-de Vries-) Burgers equation in shallow fluids and BO- (Benjamin-Ono-) Burgers equation in deep fluids. …”
