    Published 2009-01-01
“…Partition dynamically vector quantization(PDVQ) chip was researched and produced to encode images. Before encoding,it first judged the correlation of the encoding image block, and then decided to choose the size of the image blocks.Test result shows that PDVQ chip can improve the compression rate to 27% in average by contrasting with the normal VQ,even to 64%.The size of the codebook in PDVQ chip was 256×16 byte, and all codevectors in the codebook were categorized by direction,in each category codebook codewords were sorted in the ascending order of their sum, this kind codebook architecture could reduce search range largely. The VLSI architecture of PDVQ chip was implemented based on Charter 0.35μm CMOS standard cell technology, its chip area was 2.08mm×2.08mm.Test result shows that,at 3.0V power supply,PDVQ chip can operate up to 100MHz.At this operation, its power dissipation is 295mW,and it can support real-time encoding application for 512×512 gray images at 30fame/s.…”

Optimization Design of the Second-phase Cofferdam Demolition of Datengxia Water Conservancy Project by CHEN Guihua, LI Guangyi, SU Wenliang

    Published 2023-01-01
“…The second-phase cofferdam demolition of the Datengxia Water Conservancy Project has large quantities,a tight construction period, and great difficulty. To optimize the demolition design, this paper optimizes the demolition range and elevation of upstream and downstream transverse cofferdams and longitudinal cofferdams by a 1∶80 overall model test, which is combined with factors such as relevant hydraulic conditions, energy dissipation and erosion prevention, investment, and construction period. After optimization, the right bank side of the upstream transverse cofferdam is demolished to the elevation of 31.17 m and the sluice gate section is the elevation of 25 m.The demolition length of the upstream section of the longitudinal cofferdam is 275 m,and it is demolished to the elevation of 36 m with the remaining 50 m not being demolished. The downstream horizontal earth-rock cofferdam is completely demolished, and the longitudinal cofferdam is demolished to the elevation of 30 m,with a demolition length of 202 m.The optimized demolition scheme meets the designed hydraulic conditions, reduces the construction difficulty, and decreases the demolition quantities and investment.…”

PARAMETRIC LEVEL SET METHOD-BASED TOPOLOGY OPTIMIZATION OF HEAT CONDUCTION STRUCTURES by SHEN YaDong, FENG JianHu, CHENG XiaoHan

    Published 2018-01-01
“…With the problems of complicated calculation process and lower computational efficiency in topology optimization using the traditional level set method(LSM) of heat conduction structures, parametric level set method(PLSM) is introduced into topology optimization for heat conduction structures. The compactly supported radial basis functions(CS-RBFs) are used to interpolate the initial level set function. The interpolation coefficients of CS-RBFs are proposed as the design variables, dissipation of heat transport potential capacity is adopted as the objective function, and the volume of material is used as the constraint. The topology optimization model for heat conduction structures is thus built.Because the method of moving asymptotes(MMA) is used to update the interpolation coefficients of CS-RBFs,the process of topology optimization for structures is transformed into that of updating interpolation coefficients and the optimal topology is finally obtained.Numerical examples show that the optimal results using PLSM are essentially in agreement with those of LSM optimal results, which illustrates the feasibility and validity of the proposed method.…”

Acceleration Planning of the Closed Five-bow-shaped-bar Linkage based on Energy Consumption Analysis by Yu Lianqing, Zeng Xiangkuo, Li Hongjun, Wu Zijun, Meng Yunhong

    Published 2020-04-01
“…In order to reduce the energy consumption of a robot of the closed five-bow-shaped-bar linkage rolling along a straight line, the effect of the maximum rolling acceleration under the constant potential energy rolling strategy and the variable potential energy rolling strategy on the total energy consumption of the system is studied.A modified trapezoidal curve with adjustable maximum rolling acceleration is adopted as the rolling angle acceleration law of the system, and the joint trajectories is obtained by using the rolling strategies of constant potential energy and variable potential energy respectively. On this basis, considering the viscous friction in the joints, the Lagrange equation with dissipation function is used to solve inverse dynamics solution, and the total energy consumption of the system is calculated by the energy consumption equation. The calculation shows that the total energy consumption of the system decreases first and then increases with the increase of the maximum rolling acceleration, and using the constant potential energy rolling strategy is beneficial to reducing the total energy consumption of the system. Finally, the correctness of theoretical analysis is verified by Adams simulation.…”
