Effects of nanoencapsulated essential oil blend in diet of Lohmann Brown hens on posture percentage, quality and egg oxidative stability by Gilmar Mendoza–Ordoñez, Miguel Callacná–Custodio, Vanessa Armas–Azabache, Bruno Loyaga–Cortéz, Roberto Ybañez–Julca, Daniel Asunción–Alvarez, Hugo Saavedra–Sarmiento, Aníbal Rodriguez–Vargas

    Published 2025-01-01
“…However, the impact of nanoencapsulated essential oil blends (N–EOs) in the diet of laying hens has been little described. The objective of the research was to evaluate the effect of mixtures of N–EOs in diets of Lohmann Brown hens on the percentage of laying, quality, and oxidative stability of the egg product. 600 birds were randomly distributed into five groups (n=150 per group), according to a completely randomized design, receiving the control group (T0) a conventional diet without N–EOs while the experimental groups received mixtures of N–EOs based on soursop (S), lemon (L) and eucalyptus (E) in different proportions: T1 (S: 33.4 , L:33.3%, E:33.3%), T2 (S:50%, L:25%, E:25%), T3 (S:25%, L:50%, E:25%) and T4 ( S:25%, L:25%, E:50%). …”

Foxtail millet supplementation improves glucose metabolism and gut microbiota in rats with high-fat diet/streptozotocin-induced diabetes by Xin Ren, Linxuan Wang, Zenglong Chen, Min Zhang, Dianzhi Hou, Yong Xue, Xianmin Diao, Ruihai Liu, Qun Shen

    Published 2022-01-01
“…To confirm the hypoglycemic effects of FM, we investigated the effects of FM supplementation on glucose metabolism and gut microbiota in rats with high-fat diet/streptozotocin (HFD/STZ)-induced diabetes. Specifically, we fully assessed the blood biochemical profiles, pancreatic histopathology, insulin-glucagon immunofluorescence, short-chain fatty acids, and gut microbiota composition of rats with HFD/STZ-induced diabetes before and after FM supplementation. …”

A soy glycinin derived octapeptide protects against MCD diet induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in mice by Peng Ma, Rongrong Huang, Yu Ou

    Published 2022-11-01
“…To determine the effect of SGP8 on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), steatosis HepG2 cells were induced by 1 mmol/L free fatty acid (FFA) and C57BL/6J mice were fed with methionine-choline deficient (MCD) diet for 3 weeks to establish NAFLD model. The results of oil red O staining and total cholesterol (TC)/triglyceride (TG) contents showed that SGP8 could significantly reduce the lipid content of steatosis HepG2 cells. …”
