Healthcare outcomes and special education eligibility in children with congenital CMV. by Ryan Rochat, Elizabeth Goodman, Jerry Miller, Wei Wang, Gail J Demmler-Harrison

    Published 2024-01-01
“…In the contemporary clinical cohort, at least one of these codes was noted in 67% of the AcCMV patients as compared to 95% for ScCMV patients. 61% of patients in the historical and 86% in the contemporary cohort had at least one special education-qualifying ICD-10 code. Developmental, mobility, physical therapy and hearing-related health outcomes were common in both ScCMV and AcCMV patients.…”

The piRNA protein Asz1 is essential for germ cell and gonad development in zebrafish and exhibits differential necessities in distinct types of germ granules. by Adam Ahmad, Yoel Bogoch, Gal Shvaizer, Noga Guler, Karine Levy, Yaniv M Elkouby

    Published 2025-01-01
“…By uncovering Asz1 as an essential regulator of germ cell survival and gonadogenesis in zebrafish, and determining its differential necessity in distinct germ granule types, our work advances our understanding of the developmental genetics of reproduction and fertility, as well as of germ granule biology.…”

Design and Mechanism Study of 6c, a Novel Artesunate Derivatives, for Anti-Hepatocellular Carcinoma by Xiong SS

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Molecular docking shows the binding of 6c compound to oncogenic vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) and Transferrin receptor protein 1 (TFR1) that are overexpressed in malignant epithelial tumors. Conclusion: Taken together, our identification of the promising compound 6c may hold developmental potential for therapy of hepatocellular carcinoma. …”

Single-session upper limb plyometric training is as effective as two sessions for improving muscle strength, power, and serve velocity in male youth tennis players: a randomized pa... by Jian Wang, Qi Xu

    Published 2025-01-01
“…A total of 47 male youth tennis players (15.6 ± 0.9 years), competing at the trained/developmental level, participated in the study. Evaluations were conducted twice—once before the intervention and once after—assessing isometric shoulder rotation strength (internal [ISRT] and external [ESRT]) with a dynamometer, the medicine ball chest throw (MBCT), seated shot-put test (SST), and serve velocity using a radar gun.ResultsIn the post-intervention, significant differences were observed between groups for the variables of ISRT (p = 0.010; ηp2 = 0.189), ESRT (p = 0.004; ηp2 = 0.226), MBCT (p = 0.012; ηp2 = 0.181), SST (p = 0.019; ηp2 = 0.164), and tennis serve velocity (p = 0.004; ηp2 = 0.226).ConclusionThe study found that ULPT significantly improves upper limb muscle strength, power, and serve velocity in young male tennis players, with both once and twice weekly training yielding similar benefits. …”

Demografic analysis of biopesticide effects on the two-spotted spider mite (Acari: Tetranychidae) following egg treatment by Međo Irena

    Published 2024-01-01
“…In the bioassays with oxymatrine-and azadirachtin-based products, the rm and A values were reduced by 22% and 5%, and 16% and 4%, respectively, due to reduced survival and fertility, as well as extended juvenile developmental time of females that survived treatment, compared to control females. …”
