Autogenous Electron Acceleration by Ion Flow Vortex in Space Plasmas
Published 2025-01-01“…Our observations, suggesting that the ion flow vortex can serve as novel electron accelerators, can be fundamentally important for understanding energetic phenomena in the cosmos, such as nonthermal emissions near astrophysical jets and killer electrons in geospace.…”

Association between different modalities of opioid use disorder-related care delivery and opioid use disorder-related patient outcomes: A retrospective cohort study
Published 2025-06-01“…Methods: This study was conducted among patients newly diagnosed with OUD and receiving OUD-related care between March 2020 and March 2022, using data from Epic Cosmos. We examined the association between the most common modality of OUD-related care delivery (audio-only vs. audiovisual vs. in-person) and the number of emergency department (ED) visits for any overdose and opioid-specific overdose and receipt of medication treatment for OUD (MOUD; primary). …”

Unveiling the Cosmic Chemistry: Revisiting the Mass–Metallicity Relation with JWST/NIRSpec at 4 < z < 10
Published 2025-01-01“…We present star formation rates (SFRs), the mass–metallicity relation (MZR), and the SFR-dependent MZR across redshifts 4–10 using 81 star-forming galaxies observed by the JWST NIRSpec employing both low-resolution PRISM and medium-resolution gratings, including galaxies from the JWST Advanced Deep Extragalactic Survey (JADES) GOODS-N and GOODS-S fields, the JWST-PRIMAL Legacy Survey, and additional galaxies from the literature in the A2744, SMACS-0723, RXJ2129, BDF, COSMOS, and MACS1149 fields. These galaxies span a 3 dex stellar mass range of 10 ^7 < M _* / M _⊙ < 10 ^10 , with an average SFR of 7.2 ± 1.2 M _⊙ yr ^−1 and an average metallicity of $12+\mathrm{log}({\rm{O}}/{\rm{H}})=7.91\pm 0.08$ . …”

Epistemic Roots, Universal Routes and Ontological Roofs of African “Ritual Archives”: Disciplinary Formations in African Thought
Published 2021-12-01“…I also demonstrate how this section may contribute to clarification of the nature of Yoruba philosophy understood as a body of ideas on the scope of human intelligibility and the relationship between that philosophy and òrìṣà cosmology, an expansive view of the cosmos developed in relation to the philosophy. This is a heuristic rather than an attempt at a definitive distinction and is derived from the relationship between my practical and theoretical investigation of Yoruba epistemology and Falola’s exploration, in “Ritual Archives”, of a particularly strategic aspect of òrìṣà cosmology represented by Esu. …”

The Lyman Continuum Escape Fraction of Star-forming Galaxies at 2.4 ≲ z ≲ 3.0 from UVCANDELS
Published 2025-01-01“…The UltraViolet Imaging of the Cosmic Assembly Near-infrared Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey Fields (UVCANDELS) survey is a Hubble Space Telescope (HST) Cycle-26 Treasury Program, allocated in total 164 orbits of primary Wide-Field Camera 3 Ultraviolet and VISible light F275W imaging with coordinated parallel Advanced Camera for Surveys F435W imaging, on four of the five premier extragalactic survey fields: GOODS-N, GOODS-S, EGS, and COSMOS. We introduce this survey by presenting a comprehensive analysis of the absolute escape fraction ( ${f}_{{\rm{esc}}}^{{\rm{abs}}}$ ) of Lyman continuum radiation through stacking the UV images of a population of star-forming galaxies with secure redshifts at 2.4 ≤ z ≤ 3.0. …”
