A distributed strategy for the multi-target rescue using a UAV swarm under communication constraints
Published 2022-09-01“…The current designs of the cooperative decision-making of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarm usually adopt unreasonable assumptions on the communication ability between UAVs.Focusing on a multi-target rescue problem of a UAV swarm under constraints of energy, load and path, the limitation on the information sharing due to the communication constraints and the flight path of UAVs were taken into account.Firstly, the problem was formulated as a partially observable Markov decision process (POMDP).Then, a recurrent neural network was used to propose a deep-reinforcement-learning-based distributed rescue strategy, which is able to adapt to the changeable communication topology.Simulation results show that the proposed strategy outperforms other strategies under communication constraints, and further show that a careful joint setting of the size and communication ability of a UAV swarm is needed to achieve the best compromise between the UAV swarm rescue performance and the cost.…”

Scrambler blind recognition method based on soft information
Published 2017-03-01“…Two scrambler blind recognition methods based on soft information were proposed for received signal in non-cooperative ways. The first method established a cost function of the scrambler coefficients by using the soft information, and adopted the optimization theory of real number field for positive solution. So it didn’t need to traverse the closed set of test polynomial any more. The second method built conformity degree concept with the soft information, and used the size of conformity of each test scrambler polynomial as the discriminant criteria. So it made more full use of the received information compared to the hard sentence recognition algorithm.Simulation results show that the first method can shorten the recognition time of a synchronous scrambler polynomial from 5 min 18 s to 8 s compared with the traversal method put forward by Cluzeau, and the second method has 2 dB SNR gain when to achieve the relatively high accuracy compared with the hard sentence recognition algorithm.…”

Outage performance analysis for multi-UAV relay systems with threshold-based DF protocol
Published 2020-08-01“…The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) relay system has become a hot topic as an effective method for the remote transmission in wireless communications.By taking path loss into account,a relay cooperative transmission system model based on multiple UAVs was established firstly, and the maximum output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the system with threshold-based decode-and-forward (DF) protocol was obtained. Then,by assuming that both the uplink and downlink experience Rician distribution, the closed-form expression for outage probability (OP) of the considered system with multiple UAVs was derived.Furthermore, the asymptotic OP formula at high SNR was also derived to show the diversity order and array gain of the considered system, which were convenient to reveal the effects of system parameters on the outage performance. Finally, the computer simulations verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis, and reveal the effect of the relay number, antenna number and the threshold on the system outage performance, thus the proposed scheme can provide guidance for the system design and application.…”
