Arthur ainda vive? by Isadora Cristine Martins

    Published 2022-07-01
“…Virginie Greene questions the pertinence of using the term “messianism” in the Middle Ages and argues that it cannot be used in the same sense as used by historians to refer to Modernity4.In this essay we try to withdraw the analysis from the courtly environments in which they were reproduced, through some selected chronicles, from a History from Below perspective, to understand who are the people waiting for Arthur’s return and whether this hope represents more than a speech constructed by the chroniclers. From a crossing between chronicles and archaeological studies, we try to map cults, traditions, and pilgrimages linked to Arthur that circulated through Great-Britain under the Norman rule. …”

Recovering the Loss: Infanticide, Ambivalence and Trauma in Shobha Rao’s The Lost Ribbon by Mitali Mishra, Surbhi Saraswat

    Published 2024-12-01
“…Drawing on theoretical perspectives on maternal ambivalence, the paper expands on Adrienne Rich’s distinction between mothering as lived experience and motherhood as a patriarchal construct. It contends that, contrary to the abstract ideal of a “natural” mother, the subjectivity of the mother in the story is shaped by patriarchal forces that produce a profound and traumatic ambivalence about her identity and belonging. …”

App-DDoS detection method using partial binary tree based SVM algorithm by Bin ZHANG, Zihao LIU, Shuqin DONG, Lixun LI

    Published 2018-03-01
“…As it ignored the detection of ramp-up and pulsing type of application layer DDoS (App-DDoS) attacks in existing flow-based App-DDoS detection methods,an effective detection method for multi-type App-DDoS was proposed.Firstly,in order to fast count the number of HTTP GET for users and further support the calculation of feature parameters applied in detection method, the indexes of source IP address in multiple time windows were constructed by the approach of Hash function. Then the feature parameters by combining SVM classifiers with the structure of partial binary tree were trained hierarchically, and the App-DDoS detection method was proposed with the idea of traversing binary tree and feedback learning to distinguish non-burst normal flow, burst normal flow and multi-type App-DDoS flows. The experimental results show that compared with the conventional SVM-based and naïve-Bayes-based detection methods, the proposed method has more excellent detection performance and can distinguish specific App-DDoS types through subdividing attack types and training detection model layer by layer.…”

Path planning algorithm for WCE with joint energy replenishment and data collection based on multi-objective optimization by Zhenchun WEI, Renhao SUN, Zengwei LYU, Jianghong HAN, Lei SHI, Junyi XU

    Published 2018-10-01
“…Considering limited energy of the wireless charging equipment (WCE) in wireless rechargeable sensor network,an energy replenishment strategy and a data collection strategy are designed. On the basis of these,a path planning model for WCE with functions of joint energy replenishment and data collection based on multi-objective optimization is constructed with two optimization objectives, maximizing the total energy utility of WCE and minimizing the average delay of data transmission of all the sensor nodes in the network. To deal with it,a multi-objective ant colony optimization algorithm based on elitist strategy was proposed, where the state transition strategy and the pheromone updating strategy were improved. Then, the Pareto set was obtained in terms of this multi-objective optimization problem. The parameter setting of ant colony algorithm’s effects on the proposed algorithm were analyzed under 20 sensor nodes.50 groups of contrastive experiments show that the average number of energy utilization obtained by ES-MOAC algorithm is 4.53% higher than that of NSGA-II algorithm. The average number of average delay of all node data transmission obtained by ES-MOAC algorithm is 5.12% lower than that of NSGA-II algorithm.…”

Influence of Riverbed Pre-excavation on Local Scour of Pile Foundation Upstream of Cofferdam by LIU Congcong, LIN Hongxing, ZHAO Dongliang, CHAI Yuanfang

    Published 2021-01-01
“…The scour of pile foundation is closely related to the coupling action of water flow and sediment, and the local scour depth directly affects the safety and stability of the structure.Taking the deep-water foundation of a bridge as the research object, this paper constructs and verifies a three-dimensional numerical sediment transport model to quantitatively analyze the flow and sediment movement rules of cofferdam and upstream pile foundation under the conditions of riverbed with and without pre-excavation.The results show that:the flow velocity at the upstream face of cofferdam is small, and that at the right angle of the cofferdam reaches the maximum. The back-row pile foundation is obviously affected by the wake of the front-row pile foundation and the reverse flow formed by the backwater of the downstream cofferdam.Under the condition of riverbed pre-excavation,the flow velocity around the cofferdam decreases, and the grooving is conducive to the backflow formation of the downward flow, and the weakening of sediment carrying capacity.Under the pre-excavation condition, the local flow velocity and scour depth of the upstream pile foundation decrease to different degrees, especially for the back-row pile foundation, with maximum local scour depth reduction of 82.86%~85.07%.…”
