The Dissenting Nights of the Neo-Wood Colliers of the Vercors: A Forest Chronotope for a Heterotopia by Christophe Baticle, Philippe Hanus

    Published 2018-04-01
“…The chronotope thus set up therefore borrows from heterotopia and heterochrony insofar as the diurnal and especially nocturnal forest system constitutes “another space” in an atypical way of living the rhythms of daily life in connection (fantasised to a greater or lesser degree) with the History of the Vercors region. …”

Two-Dimensional Multiple-Snapshot Grid-Free Compressive Beamforming Using Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers by Yang Yang, Zhigang Chu

    Published 2020-01-01
“…Both simulations and experiments demonstrate that whether a standard uniform rectangular array or a non-uniform array constituted by a small number of microphones is employed, the two-dimensional multiple-snapshot grid-free compressive beamforming using our ADMM based algorithm can estimate the DOAs and quantify the strengths of acoustic sources well, and reaching the same or even better DOA estimation accuracy as the one using the IPM based solver, our ADMM based algorithm is distinctly faster.…”

Caractéristiques syntaxiques de la parenthèse en latin : linéarisation, délimitation et insertion by Isabelle Charnavel

    Published 2017-10-01
“…The aim of the paper is to analyse the syntactic rules of the incidental clause in Latin: indeed, the incidental – i.e. parenthetical sentence - exhibits the following paradox: although it is independent from a structural viewpoint (it constitutes a main clause), it is inserted in another sentence from a syntagmatic viewpoint (it linearly occurs inside another sentence, the host). …”

Strain-gradient effect on the crack tip dislocations density by Valery Shlyannikov, Andrey Tumanov, Ruslan Khamidullin

    Published 2020-09-01
“…In this study, the influence of a material’s plastic properties on the crack tip fields and dislocation density behavior is analytically and numerically analyzed using the conventional mechanism-based strain-gradient plasticity (CMSGP) theory established using the Taylor model. The material constitutive equation is implemented in a commercial finite element code by a user subroutine, and the crack tip fields are evaluated with novel parameters in the form of the intrinsic material length, characterizing the scale over which gradient effects become significant. …”

The politics of subterranean atmospheres in China: a study of contemporary chinese mining art by Marijn Nieuwenhuis

    Published 2022-11-01
“…The respiratory condition is a powerful reminder of the shared geological intimacy that exists between the bodies of miners and the materiality that constitutes the enveloping atmospheres of the underworld.Inspired by Hawkins’ (2020b, p. 4) idea of the “underground’s imaginative force” and the so-called “geologic turn” (Ellsworth & Kruse, 2013), this paper explores the politics of subterranean atmospheres in China by problematising the relationship between the ground above and the ground below. …”

DPM-based method for tracking maneuvering targets in wireless sensor networks by LIN Jin-zhao1, LI Guo-jun2, ZHOU Xiao-na2, ZHOU Dao-jun 2, JIANG Yong 2

    Published 2010-01-01
“…Focused on energy efficiency issues under tracking targets within WSN,a new dynamic power management(DPM) method for tracking distributed targets was proposed combining with the network energy consumption model and wake-up mechanism. With precedent location information of maneuvering target, the algorithm involved both cancelling noise by wavelet filter and predicting target state by autoregressive transformation is introduced to awaken wireless sensor nodes so that their sleep time is prolonged and energy consumption is reduced.According to the current location of maneuvering target, related nodes in an appointed cluster of WSN constitute a distributed dynamic tracking unit, and the cluster head is responsible for collecting the measurement information from the nodes in the tracking unit.A locating algorithm based on the relative posi-tion of two circulars formed on the bases of measurement information is adopted to simplify the process of locatiny and tracking target.Simulation results show that the DPM-based method can reduce the nodes’ energy consumption, meet the locating and tracking accuracy, and can be applied to locate and track the maneuvering targets on the earth surface.…”
