Research on Simulation Method for Incoming Flood of Tianyi Reservoir Considering the Influence of Karst Geomorphology
Published 2022-01-01“…The karst in karst areas leads to a more complex runoff formation process, and the construction of water conservancy projects has aggravated the complexity and uncertainty of the production and confluence process in the basin. On this basis,a semi-distributed incoming flood simulation model of Tianyi Reservoir in the Nanpanjiang River was built by the Xin'anjiang model for karst geomorphology, considering the influence of upstream karst geomorphology. The results reveal that:① the built Xin'anjiang model for karst geomorphology can well simulate the incoming flood process of Tianyi Reservoir, and the simulation accuracy index of each zone is greater than that of the traditional Xin'anjiang model;② the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency (NSE) coefficient in the series incoming flood simulation of Tianyi Reservior based on the model constructed in this paper is greater than 0.86 during both the calibration period and the validation period, and the volume error is within 12%,which indicates that the simulation results of the constructed model are good;③ the forecast accuracy is evaluated for six typical incoming floods of Tianyi Reservoir from 2018 to 2020,and the evaluation suggests that the built zonal forecast scheme meets the specification accuracy requirements. Thus, the results of the study can provide a reference for hydrological simulation in the upstream karst area of Tianyi Reservoir.…”

Reservoir Flood Forecasting Based on Long-Short-Term Memory Neural Network
Published 2022-01-01“…Accurate flood forecasting is one of the main means to well perform flood control and drainage, and the long-short-term memory neural network (LSTM) has a strong ability to fit time series relationships, which thus is very suitable for simulating and forecasting the complex time series process of basin runoff generation and confluence. To explore the applicability of LSTM in the field of reservoir flood forecasting, this paper established an LSTM model according to different forecast periods in the Baipenzhu Basin and compared it with Xinanjiang model. The LSTM model uses the rainfall and water level data in the basin as input and adopts the water levels of the reservoir at different forecast periods as output. The calibration period is five years, and the verification period is one year. The results show that LSTM has high forecast accuracy when the forecast period is 1~6 h,and the forecast accuracy is the highest when the forecast period is 1h,reaching 0.991.As the forecast period increases, the accuracy of the LSTM model gradually decreases, but its forecast accuracy is higher than that of Xinanjiang model. In addition, reflecting the complexity of the neural network, the prediction period and the number of neurons in the hidden layer will affect not only the forecast accuracy but also the training speed of the model. It is proven that the LSTM model has high forecast accuracy and is of guiding significance to reservoir flood forecasting.…”

Hydrodynamic Characteristics and Riverbed Evolution Analysis of the Bazizui Straight Branching Channel in Xinjiang River Based on MIKE21
Published 2023-01-01“…To clarify the hydrodynamic characteristics and riverbed evolution trend of the branching channel bank in the Bazizui shipping section of Xinjiang River, this paper builds the two-dimensional mathematical model of the research water area by MIKE21 hydrodynamic module. It employs the hydrological data of Meigang Station to calibrate the model and verify the accuracy. On this basis, the hydrodynamic characteristics in different hydrological periods of the straight branching channel of Xinjiang River are analyzed, and the evolution trend of the branching channel section is clarified. The results show that the left branch is the main water branch, and the diversion ratio of the diversion channel decreases with the increase in flow. The velocity of flow is irregularly distributed and varies significantly between regions. The main stream appears in the left branch of the diversion section, and the maximum flow velocity is confirmed in the narrow part. The water level decreases uniformly from the diverging area to the confluence area. The overall stability of river pattern development and evolution is good, and the evolution of the water channel is mainly reflected in the local changes of riverbed scouring and silting in branching channels. The model can effectively simulate the diversion ratio and water level variation of the branching channel, which can provide a scientific basis for the study of river safety protection and navigation stability.…”
