Dono ed economie altre: per un nuovo contratto sociale
Published 2014-04-01“… The article focuses on the recent debate, about gift and the non-market economies, born especially around the new lecture of classical texts of Marcel Mauss and Karl Polanyi. The article is meant to show that the renewed interest is rooted in the contemporary crisis of relationships, of social ties, and in the effects of commodification of the utilitarian market economies. …”

Sacred texts and mystic meaning: an inquiry into Christian spirituality and the interpretive use of the Bible
Published 2011-12-01“… This article endeavours merely to highlight four areas in the increasingly fertile and enriching field of Christian Spirituality which may demand some further scrutiny by scholars: (i) the observation of the ‘open’ and ‘live’ quality of classic sacred texts; (ii) the attention owed to the informing worldviews of both authors and readers; (iii) the specific use of language and modes of exegesis employed in the Christian spiritual quest, and (iv) the issue of the highly personal and narrative nature of Christian spirituality and how it may be monitored. …”

Nonlinear scale-space based boundary localization for nonideal iris
Published 2014-03-01“…A nonlinear scale-space based localization method of nonideal iris boundaries was proposed. The method eliminates small-scaled geometric structures while preserving large-scaled iris boundaries by nonlinear diffusions with the scale-evolution property. Moreover it combines such diffusions with the frame of multiresolution analysis, and achieves fast and effective iris boundary detection.Experimental results indicate that compared with the classical methods, the proposed algorithm extract nonideal iris boundaries accurately and efficiently with overcoming the disadvantageous influences of the nonideal factors.…”

Structured populations with diffusion in state space
Published 2009-12-01“…The classical models for populationsstructured by size have two features which may cause problems inbiologically realistic modeling approaches: the structure variablealways increases, and individuals in an age cohort that areidentical initially stay identical throughout their lives. …”

“L’anello che non tiene”: ai margini di un sistema ortografico
Published 2019-11-01“…This paper deals with the usage of three graphic systems, namely the orthographies known as “Pacotto-Viglongo”, “Classical” and “Escolo dóu Po”. While the first is generally used for writing the Piedmontese variety of Turin, the last two prove to be the most typical tool to write the Occitan varieties of Italy. …”

Some Characterizations and Properties of a New Partial Order
Published 2020-01-01“…By applying matrix decomposition, core inverse, core partial order, and Löwner partial order, we give some characteristics of LC partial order, study the relationship between LC partial order and Löwner partial order under constraint conditions, and illustrate its differences with some classical partial orders, such as minus, CL, and GL partial orders.…”

Designing and planning a bioethanol supply chain network under uncertainty using a data-driven robust optimization model under disjunctive uncertainty sets
Published 2024-08-01“…Purpose: Most research in the field of designing and planning bioethanol supply chains has been based on deterministic models, which do not consider dynamic environmental conditions and thus do not provide reliable outputs. Classic robust models did not have this weakness, but due to their excessive conservatism, they increased supply chain costs, making them unattractive to investors. …”

Subgingival Delivery of Statins as an Adjunct in the Non-Surgical Treatment of Periodontitis: A Systematic Review
Published 2025-01-01“…In recent years, studies have emerged suggesting additional clinical benefits from the use of statins as an adjunct to classical periodontal disease treatment. The aim of the present study was to review the relevant literature relating to the subgingival use of statins as an adjunctive treatment to the classical, non-surgical treatment of periodontitis, with a particular focus on groups with general factors that may affect the outcome of treatment. …”
