Improved Polar selective decoding and forwarding cooperation by Qichao SUN, Jianrong BAO, Chao LIU, Bin JIANG, Fang ZHU, Jianhai HE

    Published 2020-01-01
“…An improved Polar selective decoding and forwarding (IPSDF) scheme based on cooperative threshold de-cision was proposed.Firstly,a new construction of Polar codes according to the fading channel state information (CSI) was proposed. Then,a relay with best CSI was selected from the candidate relay set as the best relay. In addition, the proposed Polar codes were introduced into the cooperative communication system,to get coding gain and reduce the complex of encoding and decoding.Simulation results show that the proposed Polar codes achieve about 0.3 dB gain at bit-error-rate (BER) of 10−3.And using a classic multi-relay cooperative model, the proposed scheme achieves about 0.8 dB and 1.3 dB gain at BER of 10−3,when compared with those the existing DF Polar+ and network Polar coded coopera-tion scheme. Therefore, the IPSDF scheme can be used to improve BER performance in a multi-relay cooperative system and it is quite suitable for heterogeneous network applications in cooperative communication.…”

Gamma-Ray Bursts as Multienergy Neutrino Sources by Katsuaki Asano, Kohta Murase

    Published 2015-01-01
“…We also emphasize the importance of searches for GeV-TeV neutrinos, which are expected in the precursor/orphan or prompt phase, and lower-energy neutrinos would be more guaranteed and their detections even allow us to probe physics inside a progenitor star. Not only classical GRBs but also low-power GRBs and transrelativistic supernovae can be promising sources of TeV-PeV neutrinos, and we briefly discuss implications for the cumulative neutrino background discovered by IceCube.…”

"He told me to hold my tongue" : de la violence physique à la subjectivation politique dans The History of Mary Prince by Frédéric Regard

    Published 2010-09-01
“…She was then taken under the protection of Thomas Pringle, who would soon edit Prince’s autobiography, typed by a friend of his, Susanna Strickland. In this essay, I try to demonstrate that Prince’s narrative—through Strickland’s mediation—uses rhetoric to transfigure herself, from an animal into a British lady, thus challenging the classic distinction between the savage slave and the civilized European. …”

A Multiscale Model for Virus Capsid Dynamics by Changjun Chen, Rishu Saxena, Guo-Wei Wei

    Published 2010-01-01
“…A multiscale action functional is constructed as a unified framework to derive the governing equations for the dynamics of different scales. We show that the classical Navier-Stokes equation for the fluid dynamics and Newton's equation for the molecular dynamics can be derived from the least action principle. …”
