On the Price Dynamics of a Two-Dimensional Financial Market Model with Entry Levels by En-Guo Gu

    Published 2020-01-01
“…By adding trend followers who pay attention to the most recent observed price trend, we formulate a financial market model driven by a new two-dimensional discontinuous piecewise linear (PWL) map with three branches. The dynamic behavior of the mapping system is studied in two cases according to different trend followers’ expectation of the stock price. …”

Dynamics of delayed mosquitoes populations models with two different strategies of releasing sterile mosquitoes by Liming Cai, Shangbing Ai, Guihong Fan

    Published 2018-09-01
“…Our results demonstrate that in the case of constant release rate, the delay does not affect the dynamics of the system and every solution of the system approaches to an equilibrium point; while in the case of the release rate proportional to the wild mosquito populations, the delay has a large effect on the dynamics of the system, namely, for some parameter ranges, when the delay is small, every solution of the system approaches to an equilibrium point; but as the delay increases, the solutions of the system exhibit oscillatory behavior via Hopf bifurcations. Numerical examples and bifurcation diagrams are also given to demonstrate rich dynamical features of the model in the latter release case.…”

Espaço vivido e espaço mental: Dalton Trevisan e a dicotomia social do urbanismo curitibano by Nelson H. Vieira

    Published 2013-01-01
“…By contrasting the many praises that Curitiba has received as a “green city” with tragic-comic and ominous scenarios played out in Trevisan’s narratives, this study points to the socio-historic vestiges of its past as a colonial city and how that social experience still marks local behavior. Besides illustrating how Trevisan’s short stories tend toward the universal, due to their highly conscious dialog with the reader and in spite of its regional focus, we underscore how the contradiction between the sardonic and the affective uncovers the sentimental yet disturbing side of this Human Comedy. …”
