Le Web des internautes by Sébastien Rouquette

    Published 2008-06-01
“…As shown in a comparative rereading of the statistical literature on the uses of the Web, two types of surfing occupy the majority of users: the practical Web and the entertaining Web.From this, two types of conclusions can be drawn. The first is that because of a “media” or “economic” bias, most of the “hit parades” often give the illusion of an “internet revolution” and of the average user. The second is that the users judged to be “trivial” play both the role of revealing the technical evolutions of the internet as well as of the changing social, familial, or professional constraints which most internet users face.…”

Joint user association and power control scheme based on energy consumption and QoE in heterogeneous network by Shiyu JI, Liangrui TANG, Shuxian LI, Shimo DU

    Published 2017-11-01
“…Based on multi-objective optimization,a joint user association and power control scheme was proposed in heterogeneous network environment, aiming to reduce the system energy consumption and improve user quality of experience. The scheme took the system energy consumption minimum and the average user quality of experience maximum as objective functions and translated the joint user association and power control to multi-objective problem. Then, the differential evolution optimization algorithm and TOPSIS algorithm was used to solve the multi-objective problem.Simulation results show that the scheme can efficiently reduce the system energy consumption and improve the user quality of experience.…”

Incentive mechanism based on auction model for mobile crowd sensing network by Yuanni LIU, Yaoxi LI, Huicong LI, Wanlin LI, Jianhui ZHANG, Guofeng ZHAO

    Published 2019-07-01
“…The selfishness and uncertainty of user behaviors in the mobile crowd sensing network make them unwilling to participate in sensing activities, which may result to a lower sensing task completion rate.To deal with these problems,an incentive mechanism based on auction model was proposed. In order to maximize the utility of each user, the proposed incentive method based on reverse auction (IMRA) leveraged a task-centric method to choose winners, and payed them according to a critical-price strategy.Furthermore, the proposed user-bidirectional interaction incentive mechanism (UBIM) helped drop-out users (buyers) to transfer their unfinished tasks to new users.Simulation results show that, compared with TRAC and IMC-SS,IMRA can achieve a better performance in terms of average user utility and tasks coverage ratio, and the task completion ratio can also be improved by UBIM.…”

Adaptive bandwidth allocation algorithm based on the multi-threshold reservation mechanism by Geng CHEN, Wei-wei XIA, Lian-feng SHEN

    Published 2014-12-01
“…An adaptive bandwidth allocation algorithm based on multi-threshold reservation mechanism is proposed to guarantee the quality of service (QoS) of multi-services in heterogeneous wireless networks. With the bandwidth reserva-tion mechanism by setting multi-threshold in each network for every traffic, the adaptive bandwidth allocation scheme according to the transmission rate levels requirements for traffic k and the network status can be formulated as an optimal problem with the constraints of the bandwidth allocation matrix for each traffic and all users based on the multi-homing technology.A procedure of the iterative method is presented to solve the optimal problem of the formulated adaptive bandwidth allocation scheme. The optimized bandwidth allocation matrixes for traffics and for all users are obtained for the real-time network throughput maximization under bandwidth reserving thresholds and network capacity constrains and the bandwidth resource utilization efficiency of heterogeneous wireless network can be increased.Numerical simula-tion results show that the proposed algorithm can support QoS requiring transmission rate grades, decrease the new call blocking probability, increase the average user access rate and improve the network throughput of the heterogeneous wireless network by 40% to the largest extent.…”
