Preferences and access to community-based HIV testing sites among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Côte d’Ivoire
Published 2022-06-01“…MSM who preferred undifferentiated HIV testing sites mentioned the lack of discretion and anonymity of community-based sites and the desire to avoid the gaze of others. Conclusion Community-based HIV testing is well suited for MSM who identify as homosexual and those close to the MSM community, while maintaining undifferentiated HIV testing is essential for others. Oral behaviors in Chinese temporomandibular disorder patients: insights from exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses
Published 2024-12-01“…Exploratory factor analysis, along with confirmatory factor analysis, was applied to waking-state oral behaviors, revealing two key factors: Chinese non-functional (C-NFA) and functional (C-FA) oral activities. Items were contrasted with those of Italian TMDs patients (I-NFA and I-FA), and subscale scores were computed, compared, and correlated using Kruskal Wallis and Post-hoc and Spearman’s rank-order correlation (α = 0.05).ResultsVariations in NFA and FA items were observed between Chinese and Italian TMDs patients. …”

COVID-19 among staff and their family members of a healthcare research institution in Bangladesh between March 2020 and April 2021: a test-negative case–control study
Published 2022-06-01“…Among the positive cases, 97% were recovered, 2.1% had reinfections, 24 died and 41 were active cases as of 15 April 2021. Multivariable regression analysis showed that age more than 60 years (adjusted OR (aOR)=2.1, 95% CI 1.3 to 3.3; p<0.05), blood group AB (aOR=1.5, 95% CI 1.1 to 2; p<0.05), fever (aOR=3.1, 95% CI 2.6 to 3.7; p<0.05), cough (aOR=1.3, 95% CI 1.1 to 1.6; p<0.05) and anosmia (aOR=2.7, 95% CI 1.3 to 5.7; p<0.05) were significantly associated with higher odds of being COVID-19 positive when compared with participants who were tested negative. Conclusions The study findings suggest that older age, fever, cough and anosmia were associated with COVID-19 among the study participants.…”

LincRNA Cox-2 Regulates Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammatory Response of Human Peritoneal Mesothelial Cells via Modulating miR-21/NF-κB Axis
Published 2019-01-01“…Furthermore, the suppression of miR-21 on LPS induced HPMCs injury was reversed by knockdown of TLR4, which could inhibited the activation of NF-κB pathway axis. It suggested that the effect of Cox-2 on LPS induced HPMCs injury was achieved by negatively regulation of miR-21 and targeted TLR4 through NF-κB pathway axis. …”
