An environment adaptive gesture recognition system based on visible light
Published 2023-06-01“…Gesture-based human-machine interaction is becoming more and more important, which can provide users with a better experience in scenarios such as video games and virtual reality. In recent years, researchers have explored different sensing technologies to facilitate gesture recognition, including RF signal, acoustic signal, etc.Compared with these approaches, visible light-based gesture recognition is a more pervasive option. The basic principle is that different gestures will produce unique shadow patterns as they block the visible light, and gesture recognition can be achieved by capturing shadow changes through photoelectric sensors. To address the environment-dependent problem faced by existing solutions, a digit gesture recognition system was designed based on the photoelectric sensor array. In particular, by modeling recordings of the sensor array as images, the temporal and spatial correlation between different sensor recordings was discovered. An environment adaptive gesture recognition method was designed based on CNN-RNN by fusing the spatio-temporal features. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, a prototype gesture recognition system was designed, named Vi-Gesture.Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms baselines by more than 10% in recognition accuracy.…”

A method of synthetic speech spoofing detection using constant Q modulation envelope
Published 2023-11-01“…In response to the low accuracy of synthetic speech spoofing detection based on traditional acoustic feature parameters, poor detection performance for unknown types of synthetic speech, and performance degradation in noisy environments, a method for detecting spoofing synthetic speech was proposed using constant Q modulation envelope (CQME) .The motivation of the method was from the fact that the temporal envelope of speech contained abundant information and there was a big difference in detail between the envelope of synthetic speech and genuine speech. The modulation envelope spectrum of speech was obtained by employing constant Q transform (CQT), and the root mean square of each frequency component was calculated to derive the CQME feature vector. And then the CQME feature vector was used to train the random forest classifier for discriminating genuine speech from spoofing synthetic speech.Experimental results demonstrate that the random forest trained with CQME features achieves high detection performance on the ASVspoof 2019 dataset and exhibites good detection efficacy for unknown types of synthetic speech.Furthermore, the proposed method shows high detection performance even under various noise conditions, having excellent noise robustness.…”

Space-time division cluster DoA estimation algorithm based on UWA spread spectrum signal
Published 2022-08-01“…To solve the problems of poor stability, low resolution, and performance degradation under low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the direction of arrival (DoA) estimation, a space-time division cluster (STDC) DoA estimation algorithm was proposed for under water acoustic (UWA) spread spectrum signal. The idea of the time-frequency two-dimensional search was used to combine the conventional beamforming with the spread spectrum sequence, set the angle interval to search the incidence angle and the arrival delay of the spread-spectrum signal, and increased the spatial spectrum to the delay angle spectrum, which kept the high resolution.STDC-DoA estimation can be anti-interference and stable operation under low SNR by using the characteristics of spread spectrum sequence. Finally, through simulation and pool experiment, it was proved that compared with the traditional DoA estimation algorithm, the proposed algorithm has better performance in anti-interference, resolution, and anti-noise.Meanwhile, the proposed algorithm does not need signal source number estimation and angle prediction and has more robust performance.…”

Speaker verification method based on cross-domain attentive feature fusion
Published 2023-08-01“…Aiming at the problem that the lack of structure information among speech signal sample in the front-end acoustic features of speaker verification system, a speaker verification method based on cross-domain attentive feature fusion was proposed.Firstly, a feature extraction method based on the graph signal processing (GSP) was proposed to extract the structural information of speech signals, each sample point in a speech signal frame was regarded as a graph node to construct the speech graph signal and the graph frequency information of the speech signal was extracted through the graph Fourier transform and filter banks. Then, an attentive feature fusion network with the residual neural network and the squeeze-and- excitation block was proposed to fuse the features in the traditional time-frequency domain and those in the graph frequency domain to promote the speaker verification system performance. Finally, the experiment was carried out on the VoxCeleb, SITW, and CN-Celeb datasets. The experimental results show that the proposed method performs better than the baseline ECAPA-TDNN model in terms of equal error rate (EER) and minimum detection cost function (min-DCF).…”
