Crowned dens syndrome: A case series of 72 patients at eight teaching hospitals in Japan
Published 2023-05-01“…Abstract Background Crowned dens syndrome (CDS) is characterized by calcification around the odontoid process, accompanied by neck pain. Although CDS is supposedly rare, we regularly diagnose and manage this condition, indicating a perception gap between previous studies and our experience. …”

Human PBMC-based humanized mice exhibit myositis features and serve as a drug evaluation model
Published 2025-01-01“…Abstract Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs) are a group of autoimmune disorders characterized by immune cell infiltration of muscle tissue accompanied by inflammation. Treatment of IIMs is challenging, with few effective therapeutic options due to the lack of appropriate models that successfully recapitulate the features of IIMs observed in humans. …”

Characterizing a complex buildup in the Pearl River Mouth Basin of the northern South China Sea: an interplay of carbonates and igneous rocks
Published 2025-01-01“…The evolution of the buildup is divided into three stages: (1) volcanic eruptions and carbonates development, (2) overflowing magma and reef shoal deposits, and (3) reef-bank deposition accompanied by igneous intrusion. We propose that volcanic rocks can be distinguished from carbonates by the temporal and spatial coupling of typical features: (a) surface volcanic rocks and subsurface intrusive bodies are inseparable, with igneous rocks identifiable through faults and volcanic conduits; (b) carbonates typically display symmetrical structures on both sides of the highland and exhibit better stratification away from igneous activity; (c) carbonates generally show a convex clinoform and steep slope at the platform margin, while volcanic mounds exhibit concave gentle slopes. …”

Mendelian randomization analysis of the causal relationship between trimethylamine N-oxide and its precursors and Parkinson’s disease
Published 2024-12-01“…These SNPs were employed as instrumental variables in a random-effects model to evaluate the causal relationship between circulating concentrations of TMAO and its precursors and the risk of Parkinson’s disease, by estimating odds ratios with accompanying 95% confidence intervals. The primary analysis employed the inverse variance-weighted (IVW) method, which was complemented with MR-Egger regression analysis. …”

Do wolframin, P-glycoprotein, and GRP78/BiP cooperate to alter the response of L1210 cells to endoplasmic reticulum stress or drug sensitivity?
Published 2025-02-01“…However, this protein is frequently overexpressed in cells undergoing ERS and its expression may accompany changes in the above ERS markers. Therefore, our aim in this work was to investigate wolframin expression in P-gp-negative and P-gp-positive murine leukemia L1210 cells in relation to ERS related proteins in normal or ERS condition. …”

Influences of Infrared Dye Content and Laser Energy Density on Laser Propulsion Performance of ADN-Based Liquid Propellants
Published 2024-12-01“…Significantly luminous plasma appears in the ablation plume at higher laser energy densities, accompanied by higher-velocity plasma shock waves. Compared to the factor of the infrared dye content, the laser energy density contributes more to the ablation efficiency, especially when the increase in laser energy density promotes the full release of chemical energy from the liquid propellant, which, in turn, also enhances the impulse, impulse coupling coefficient, and the plasma detonation velocity. …”
