Classification and Recognition of Fluvial Geomorphic Units Based on Process and Form Relationship
Published 2023-01-01“…Clarifying the types of fluvial geomorphic units and their spatial distribution can better recognize and understand rivers. In the face of problems such as the imperfection and difficult implementation of the existing classification and recognition methods of geomorphic units in China, the mature classification systems of Fryirs and Brierley geomorphic units in other countries were summarized, and the process and form relationship of different geomorphic unit types was sorted out.The Daning River,a first-level tributary of the Yangtze River, was taken as a practical case. The classification and recognition process of fluvial geomorphic units based on the process and form relationship was formed, and the spatial distribution of geomorphic units was defined by combining with the field survey data of air, sky, and ground. The classification system of Fryirs and Brierley geomorphic units was divided into four categories:alluvial and erosional bedrock and boulder units,mid-channel sedimentary units, riparian sedimentary units, and alluvial and erosional fine-grained units, including 42 types of terrace falls, deep pools, and point beaches. The types of geomorphic units included in the confluence section of the Lianghekou area of the Daning River and Houxi River were tandem plunge, rapid beach, slippery water, deep pool, shallow beach, slow flow area, side beach, and heart beach, accounting for 16.43%,21.51%,7.21%,20.45%,16.90%,13.59%,and 3.91% of the studied river section, respectively.Quantitative analysis of the spatial distribution of geomorphic units can provide theoretical support for the restoration of damaged habitats and habitat assessment in the river section.…”

Spatial Network Structures of Urban Agglomeration Based on the Improved Gravity Model: A Case Study in China’s Two Urban Agglomerations
Published 2021-01-01“…The resulting improved directional gravity model is applied to analyze the structure of the city network for two urban agglomerations in China, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration (BTHUA) and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration (YRDUA). The results of the study are as follows: (1) the existing urban connections have obvious hierarchies and imbalances, with the YRDUA urban hierarchical connections being of larger scale. (2) Cities are closely connected, but city networks are unbalanced, though the YRDUA has more balanced urban development. (3) Each node city has a clear radiation range limit, and spatial distance remains an important constraint on urban connections. …”

Seasonal Variations of Phosphorus Species in the Overlying and Pore Waters of the Tuohe River, China
Published 2019-01-01“…Overlying sediment and pore waters were collected in summer and winter at upstream (Jintang) and downstream (Neijiang) sites of the Tuohe River, which is one of the five largest tributaries of the Yangtze River in China. Phosphorus species, including soluble reactive phosphorus (SRP), soluble unreactive phosphorus (SUP), and total dissolved phosphorus (TDP), and some diagenetic constituents including dissolved Fe(II), Mn(II), and sulfide in overlying and pore waters, were measured systematically. …”

Genome-wide association study and candidate gene identification for the cold tolerance at the seedling stage of rapeseed (Brassica napus L.)
Published 2025-02-01“…Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) is an important overwintering oilseed crop and suffers from severe cold stress during the seedling stage, due to the increasingly delayed sowing in the Yangtze river basin. However, the genetic basis underlying cold tolerance in rapeseed seedlings is not well understood. …”

Analysis of the Hydrological Regime in Small Basins within the Three Gorges Reservoir Area During the Impoundment Period
Published 2023-01-01“…Hydrological regime is an important problem brought about by the Three Gorges Project and directly influences the development and utilization of water resources and ecological sustainable development in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.Existing studies mainly focus on the influence of water storage on the main stream of the Yangtze River, with little attention to the runoff variations in small basins of the reservoir area.Based on the daily hydrological data of three typical small basins (Daning River,Pengxi River, and Modaoxi River) in this area from 2003 to 2017,by adopting the methods of trend analysis, runoff concentration degree, and runoff concentration period, the multi-time scale change characteristics of runoff are identified from the aspects of runoff and dispersion degree.Meanwhile, the runoff characteristics before and after 175 m water storage (2003—2008,2009—2017) are revealed, and the influencing factors of runoff variations are discussed. The results are as follows.① The average annual runoff of the Daning River Basin and Pengxi River Basin shows a downward trend, but there are no obvious variations in the Modaoxi River Basin. The monthly average runoff in the three basins varies greatly. The runoff of the Daning River Basin and Pengxi River Basin has a significant decrease in the flood season (July),while that of the Modaoxi River Basin has significant increases in the non-flood season (February),and the extreme value of runoff mainly shows a non-significant downward trend.② The runoff concentration degree and runoff concentration period of each basin show a non-significant decrease or increase respectively.③ After water storage, the runoff concentration period of each basin obviously lags behind the precipitation, the annual runoff distribution tended to be uniform, and the precipitation-runoff correlation decreases. The correlation coefficient of monthly average runoff decreases about 2%~6%,while that of annual extreme value decreases about 3%~12%.The research results can provide a scientific basis for hydrological and water resources management in small basins in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.…”
