Comparative analysis of transfer learning performance on generalised EEG data for use in a depression diagnosis task by Shusharina, Natalia Nikolaevna

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Although the considered method of transient learning looks promising, the specificity of electroencephalogram signals and problems solved on their basis requires large-scale adaptation of algorithms and contrastive optimisation techniques for effective training of the target task. It is also worth noting the crucial role of the representativeness of the data set for training the donor network, since it is the completeness of real observations that increases the effectiveness of augmentation, which leads to an increase in the number of “useful” features in the latent space of the network and the best conditions for transfer learning in the target task. …”

Mechanism of Permeability Evolution for Reservoir Sandstone with Different Physical Properties by Xianshan Liu, Ming Xu, Ke Wang

    Published 2018-01-01
“…Furthermore, a statistical damage constitutive model considering hydraulic-mechanical coupling process is presented to calculate the damage variable D, illustrating that larger water pressure will result in a relatively smaller damage variables D and corresponding maximum, which explains that the permeability increases more rapidly and is larger for the sandstone without mud than that with mud, and sandstone damage related to corresponding circumferential crack strain and permeability has been investigated, also implying the evolution mechanism of permeability for two sandstones with different physical properties. Therefore, it is worth pointing out that rock physical properties have a great influence on the reservoir permeability under complex extraction conditions and cannot be ignored, which is necessary to improve the recovery ratio and productivity.…”

Analysis of statistics and anomalies of rainfall in Iran during the Warm period(1951-2010) by hosseinali roohbakhsh sigaroodi, mostafa karampoor, hooshang ghaemi, mohammad moradi, majid azadi

    Published 2019-12-01
“…There is a clear difference in the long-term characteristics of precipitation and its changes. It is worth mentioning that the increase in the coefficient of variation of the 30-year and 10-year periods is comparable to the corresponding periods at all stations, which indicates a decrease in the monthly and seasonal mean of spring and summer precipitation, which confirms the results of the decade and the first decade of the second decade. …”

Challenges of healthcare financing in the world’s largest refugee camp: a mixed-method study among healthcare stakeholders for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh by Isabel Smith, Imdadul Haque Talukdar, Sayeeda Tarannum, M A Rifat, Priyanka Boga, Jubayer Mumin, Pablo André Veronés, Ziba Mahdi, Syeda Saima Alam, Arif Faysal Khan

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Financial documents (available online) and reports from respective coordinating agencies were also reviewed.Setting Online key informant interviews (KIIs) were conducted from Stockholm with participants residing in Bangladesh between June 2022 and September 2022.Participants Eight KIIs were conducted with professional health programme managers, executives and personnel involved in policy coordination and implementation in refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar district of Bangladesh. Results We identified four themes and three subthemes outlining key challenges in healthcare funding, including decreasing funds (supported by a quantitative assessment) due to macroglobal issues, conflicting short-term and long-term priorities between implementing partners, insufficient efficacy due to challenges with collaborative priority-setting and implementing common processes, and a lack of consensus regarding equity between host and refugee communities. Conclusions The study identified unique challenges beyond the commonly discussed health financing issues in a resource-deficient setting: stakeholders’ conflicting priorities regarding funding and undecided equity issues among the host and refugee communities are worth scholarly and policy focus. A needs-based, equitable and effective action plan might ensure the proper utilisation of resources.…”
