Data provision for IoT searches:an auction approach by Li-hua YIN, Yun-chuan GUO, Hui-bing ZHANG

    Published 2015-12-01
“…Getting accurate data was one of keys problems in the IoTs search.Different from the Web searches that use the crawlers to collect data on the Internet, the IoT searches require that owners offer data proactively because their data were not simply released to the Internet. However, due to some reasons(privacy concerns),data owners were unwilling to provide their data to the IoT searches without enough incentives. As a result, effectively motivating owners to provided data becomes a key problem for he development of IoT searches. To address this problem,a multi-attribute auction that maximizes cost-effectiveness ratio was proposed. This mechanism can prevent hostile bids and avoid the problem that the winner provide data inconsistent with the promised quality. It was also proved that in the auction, the optimal quality was independent from its quotation and other bidders’ quality and their price.…”

Inter-carrier interference cancellation using spatial characteristics for high-mobility OFDM communication systems by Wei WANG, Qin-ye YIN, Peng-cheng MU

    Published 2015-08-01
“…High-mobility orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM)systems suffered severe inter-carrier interference(ICI)from Doppler spreading. On the basis of the characteristics of wireless propagation in practical scenarios,a method which employed the WINNER Ⅱ channel model to represent the practical wireless channel and an antenna array as the receiver to eliminate ICI in space-domain was proposed. The direction of arrival estimation algorithm and the beamforming network were used to separate the received signals in space-domain.Multi-beam diversity gain was obtained finally by means of combining the signals which have been compensated for Doppler frequency shifts(DFS)respectively.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method not only effectively reduces ICI and the error floors, but also obtains a 5~7 dB signal-to-interference gain over systems without use of the proposed method.…”

Star and National Myths in Cold War Allegories: Marlene Dietrich’s Star Persona and the Western in Fritz Lang’s Rancho Notorious (1952) by Hilaria Loyo

    Published 2010-11-01
“…Through Dietrich’s character, Altar, the boss of the Chuck-a-Luck ranch and the criminal world it embodied, Lang critiqued the emerging Cold War ideology of the man as patriarchal figure and bread-winner. At the same time, by moving Dietrich progressively towards the centre of the film, he produced an amalgam of the women’s film and the Western genre that suggested the pointlessness of the male aggression the Western itself had traditionally embodied.…”

Truthful incentive mechanism for “digital currency”based on privacy protection by Xiao CHEN, Xinran LYU, Zhi LIU

    Published 2019-04-01
“…Many national central banks have conducted legal digital currency research based on distributed ledger technology, but only the UK has disclosed the accounting structure of the legal digital currency framework RSCoin, and the incentive mechanisms was proposed to encourage mintettes to provide honest collaborative accounting services. However, this mechanism does not take into account the differential service costs of mintettes, nor does it give a definite compensation distribution. The privacy costs of the mintettes were fully considered, the incentive model of the central bank and mintettes were established, and the methods were clarified to compensate mintettes. In the legal digital currency research area,an incentive mechanism POPTIM was proposed firstly, that not only protects the private cost of the mintettes, but also guarantees the mintettes report their truthful bidding prices to the central banks.POPTIM first encrypts the biddings of mintettes by coding hash encryption method, then adopts privacy-preserving sorting algorithm to select the winner mintettes, and finally calculates the reward of mintettes based on the homomorphic addition algorithm. The analysis shows that the mechanism is privacy security, computationally efficient, individually rational and truthful simultaneously.…”
