Vibration Characteristics of Subway Tunnel Structure in Viscous Soil Medium by Dawei Ren, Shengjun Shao, Xiaoshan Cao, Yifeng Hu

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Based on research on subway tunnels in a viscous soil medium, this paper establishes the vibration equation of a tunnel structure by using the theory of moderately thick cylindrical shells and the method of wave propagation. The soil around the tunnel is represented in simplified form as an isotropic viscoelastic medium to obtain the equation of motion of the soil, and the vibration control equation of the tunnel under the influence of viscous soil is obtained by coupling. …”

Modified Finite Difference Schemes on Uniform Grids for Simulations of the Helmholtz Equation at Any Wave Number by Hafiz Abdul Wajid, Naseer Ahmed, Hifza Iqbal, Muhammad Sarmad Arshad

    Published 2014-01-01
“…All of these modified finite difference approximations provide exact solutions at the nodes of the uniform grid for the second derivative present in the Helmholtz equation and the first derivative in the radiation boundary conditions for wave propagation. The most important feature of the modified schemes is that they work for large as well as low wave numbers, without the common requirement of a very fine mesh size. …”

STUDY ON THE ACOUSTO-STRUCTURAL COUPLING OF THIN CYLINDRICAL HYDRAULIC PIPE by XIE MiaoXia, GUO Ruifeng, LI LiXia, ZHANG LinJie

    Published 2015-01-01
“…In thin hydraulic pipes, the interaction between acoustic field in the fluid and structural wave field may results in more energy loss.In order to make clear the energy loss mechanism of this kind of cylindrical pipe,an analytic study on the acousto-structural coupling of a thin cylindrical pipe is carried out using the impedance-mobility approach( IMA) in this work.Coupled equations for describing such acousto-structural coupling are derived from the wave equation and the dynamic equation of a cylindrical shell. In deriving the dynamic equation of a cylindrical shell, wave propagation involving distortion of the cross section is considered, which is very different from general researches about hydraulic vibration. In order to validate the IMA model developed, the acousto-structural response of a cylindrical pipe filled with air is calculated using IMA and FEA,respectively, which reveals the good agreement between IMA and FEA results.…”
