The Influence of the Chemistry of an Organosilica Surface on the Adsorption of Proteins from Water—Salt Solutions by T.I. Denisova, G.F. Karpenko, T.A. Khalyavka, D.I. Shvetz

    Published 1999-03-01
“…A two-component organosilica/protein system was investigated by adsorption methods using as an example the interaction of silicopolymethylsiloxane (SG-PMS) and its Cu π ion-modified forms with the basic protein trypsin and the acidic protein albumin in water–salt solutions. It has been shown that the principal surface chemical features of the organosilica which influence the adsorption of protein molecules on its surface are the ratio of alternating hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups present, the ampholitic character of the silanol groups, the pH value of the point of zero charge (pzc), the pH of the medium, the concentration of the modifying reagent (Cu π ion) employed, the contact time and the solid/liquid phase ratio of the system. …”

Prediction of the Loss of Feed Water Fault Signatures Using Machine Learning Techniques by Anselim M. Mwaura, Yong-Kuo Liu

    Published 2021-01-01
“…This study sought to develop, examine, compare, and contrast three robust machine learning methodologies of adaptive neurofuzzy inference system, long short-term memory, and radial basis function network by modeling the loss of feed water event using RELAP5. The performance indices of residual plots, mean absolute percentage error, root mean squared error, and coefficient of determination were used to determine the most suitable algorithms for accurately diagnosing the loss of feed water transient signatures. …”

Water-Polymer Perturbation Characterization and Rules of Polymer Flooding in Offshore Heavy Oilfield by Yuyang Liu, Xiaodong Kang, Zhijie Wei, Xudong Wang, Zhen Zhang

    Published 2021-01-01
“…In order to quantitatively characterize the injected water-polymer perturbation degree and analyze perturbation laws, water-polymer perturbation coefficient is proposed and established by comparing the displacement process of water-polymer coflooding and pure polymer flooding, which quantifies the dynamic change of displacement volume of injected water and polymer, and controlling strategy is discussed correspondingly to improve the development effect of water-polymer coflooding. …”
