Blind recognition of STBC based on higher-order cumulants
Published 2016-05-01“…Aiming at the problems for blind recognition of space-time block code(STBC)in MIMO communication sys-tems,a method was exploited based on higher-order cumulants of received signals.Firstly, the model of received signals was given and the fourth-order cumulants of the received signals in multiple input single output(MISO)systems was ob-tained.Secondly,using the characteristics of coding matrix,it was proved that the fourth-order cumulants in different de-lay vectors presented non-null value that depended on the STBC sat the transmitter side. Finally,a classifier for the STBC was presented based on the Euclid distance between the experimental values of fourth-order cumulants and the theoretical ones.Simulations show that the method performs well even for low signal to noise ratio.…”

Spatial modelling of vector-borne diseases: Where? When? How many?
Published 2025-03-01“…Through the integration of machine learning techniques, our endeavors to predict not only the presence and activity of disease vectors but also the potential for disease outbreaks and their impact on populations in a one health context.Central to our approach are three questions concerning the vector: (1) Where is the vector present? (2) When will the vector be active? and (3) How many vectors will be active at any given time? …”

Evaluation of Pathogenicity of Entomopathogenic Oomycetes Lagenidium giganteum and L. ajelloi against Anopheles Mosquito Larvae
Published 2023-01-01“…Biological control using entomopathogenic fungi against the immature malaria mosquito vectors presents an untapped opportunity. This study sought to isolate and characterize entomopathogenic oomycetes Lagenidium giganteum and L. ajelloi from wild Anopheles larvae from Ahero rice fields in western Kenya and test their pathogenicity against laboratory-reared Anopheles gambiae larvae. …”
