The COVID-19 pandemic art of Anna Szpakowska-Kujawska: from pastels to spatial compositions
Published 2025-02-01“…At the same time, Tomczak sees Szpakowska-Kujawska’s works as expressive objects and personal psychograms encoding reality in the subjective iconography of a special period, which stylistically determines the coexistence of individualized biomorphism and simplified figuration, abstract universalization and symbolic representation. Being an example of creative adaptation to the contemporary threat, the works are affirmations of artistic activity in everyday conditions, as well as a continuation of Szpakowska-Kujawska’s distinct version of occasionally transgressive modernism. …”

High-precision indoor wireless positioning method based on generative adversarial network
Published 2021-06-01“…Because wireless signals are susceptible to interference during the propagation process, the application of traditional indoor positioning methods in real life is limited.Because location-based fingerprint positioning technology has the advantage of strong universality, it has become a current research hotspot. The number of fingerprint data is an important factor affecting the accuracy of fingerprint positioning, but the cost of collecting a large amount of fingerprint data is large. Therefore, how to use a small amount of fingerprint data to achieve higher positioning accuracy is a difficult point of fingerprint positioning technology.Aiming at this problem, a high-precision indoor wireless positioning method based on generative adversarial network was proposed.Firstly, fingerprint data was collected densely at equal intervals indoors, and the initial fingerprint data set was constructed, the part of the fingerprint data was selected in the initial fingerprint data set, and the generative adversarial network was used to obtain a large amount of fingerprint data from part of the fingerprint data. Then, based on these generated data, a KNN (k-nearest neighbor) model and a random forest model were used for location prediction.Experimental results show that this method can achieve high wireless positioning accuracy based on a small amount of fingerprint data, and the positioning accuracy can reach 15.4 cm.…”

Reducing fragmentation of primary healthcare financing for more equitable, people-centred primary healthcare
Published 2025-01-01“…Under-resourcing has been compounded by fragmented and rigid funding flows, which are inefficient and may erode equity, quality of care and public trust in PHC.This article explores the drivers of fragmentation in PHC financing—low public spending, which results in over-reliance on external sources to fund critical health interventions, and the proliferation of new financing schemes that do not take a system-wide view or adhere to the principles of universality. It then highlights some of the possible consequences of this fragmentation for the efficiency, equity and effectiveness of service delivery.Four countries—Argentina, Burkina Faso, Indonesia and Tanzania—are used to illustrate practical steps that may be taken to minimise the consequences of fragmentation in PHC financing: (1) consolidating multiple coverage schemes, (2) avoiding further fragmentation, (3) harmonising health purchasing functions and (4) streamlining funding flows to the provider level. The country examples reveal lessons for policy-makers grappling with the consequences of fragmented PHC financing. …”
