Live video transmission optimization mechanism based on edge intelligence in high client-density environment
Published 2023-11-01“…The traditional live video transmission optimization mechanism is deployed on the server side, which cannot quickly respond to the dynamic changes of the user’s wireless network environment. To address this problem, a live video transmission optimization mechanism based on edge intelligence called S-Edge was proposed. It was deployed on the OpenWrt-based wireless access point, and comprehensively utilized the wireless channel state information such as airtime utilization and signal-to-noise ratio to make intelligent decisions on terminal priority and transmission rate based on fuzzy logic theory.Furthermore, the active queue management with hierarchical token bucket and service demand-driven wireless transmission rate adaptive control technologies were introduced to realize the real-time scheduling of live video data.In order to verify the effectiveness and performance of the proposed mechanism, a high client-density environment was built through user clusters based on multi-radio interfaces in the real-world scenario.Experimental results show that S-Edge can significantly reduce the average delay and packet loss rate, which meets QoS requirements of live video transmission services in the high client-density environment.…”

Functional complementarity relationship enhanced cloud API recommendation method
Published 2023-06-01“…Current cloud application program interface (API) recommendation methods mainly use similarity calculation or historical calls of Mashup to generate recommendation results, while ignoring the beneficial functional complementarity (FC) between Mashup and cloud API.To address the above issue, a FC relationship enhanced cloud API recommendation approach was proposed.Firstly, label co-occurrence was applied to describe the FC relationship. Then, the FC score was calculated to describe the degree of FC between the cloud API and the Mashup, and the FC vector was learned to describe the potential FC relationship.Based on this, FC scores and FC vectors were embedded into the cloud API recommendation model, so that FC relationship played a key role in the cloud API recommendation process.Experiments were conducted on real-world cloud API datasets, and the AUC, F1 and HR@5 of the proposed approach improved by an average of 2.32%, 1.86% and 9.15%, respectively, in the sparse scenario. Finally, the proposed approach can improve the accuracy of cloud API recommendation results, while improving the recommendation performance of long-tail cloud API.…”

HashTrie:a space-efficient multiple string matching algorithm
Published 2015-10-01“…The famous multiple string matching algorithm AC consumed huge memory when the string signatures were massive, thus unable to process high speed network traffic efficiently. To solve this problem,a space-efficient multiple string matching algorithm-HashTrie was proposed. This algorithm adopted recursive hash function to store the patterns in bit-vectors in place of the state transition table in order to reduce space consumption.Further more it made use of the rank operation for fast verification.Theoretic analysis shows that the space complexity of HashTrie is O(|P|),which is linear with the size of pattern set |P|and is independent of the alphabetsize σ.The space complexity is superior to the complexity O(|P|σlog|P|)of AC.Experiments on synthetic datasets and real-world datasets(such as Snort,ClamAV and URL)show that HashTrie saves up to 99.6% storage cost compared with AC,and in the meanwhile it runs at a matching speed that is about half of AC.HashTrie is a space-efficient multiple string matching algorithm that is appropriate to search large scale pattern strings with short lengths.…”
