Characterization of polyethylene and polyurethane microplastics and their adsorption behavior on Cu2+ and Fe3+ in environmental matrices
Published 2025-02-01“…Finally, we assessed the metal adsorption capacity to establish the role of microplastics in the transport of heavy metals in the environment. We observed selective adsorption for Cu2⁺ ions, which was both medium-dependent (more ions adsorbed in Elendt M7) and plastic-dependent, with PU showing a stronger affinity for Cu2⁺ in MilliQ and Egg water. …”

Published 2024-04-01“…MLNM and lung metastases were detected in 1.2% and 3.3% of patients, respectively. cT3-4, cN1, central LN metastasis, and lateral LN metastasis were RFs for MLNM in all patients (p < 0.05, p < 0.05, p < 0.05, p < 0.01) and older patients (age: ≥55 years) (p < 0.01, p < 0.05, p < 0.05, p < 0.05). cT3-4, cN1, gross extrathyroidal extension, central LN metastasis, and lateral LN metastasis were RFs for lung metastasis in all patients (p < 0.01, p < 0.05, p < 0.01, p < 0.01, p < 0.01, respectively). cN1 and gross extrathyroidal extension, central LN metastasis, and lateral LN metastasis were RFs in older patients (p < 0.01, p < 0.01, p < 0.05, p < 0.01), while lateral LN metastasis was an RF for lung metastasis in those of <55 years of age (younger patients) (p < 0.05). No MLNM was observed in cT1-2cN0 PTC patients, who accounted for 50.5% of patients included in the MLNM analysis. …”

Published 2024-04-01“…Following spinal cord injury (SCI), an increase in apoptosis, activation of the MAPK/Erk pathway, and impairment of lung function were observed in SCI rats. Conversely, treadmill training resulted in a reduction in alveolar cell apoptosis, suppression of the MAPK/Erk pathway, and enhancement of lung function. …”

Response of Microbial Community Structure and Diversity to Nitrogen Deposition in Soils of Pinus yunnanensis Forest of the Central Yunnan Plateau
Published 2024-12-01“…[Objective] To study the characteristics of changes in chemical properties and diversity and structural composition of soil microbial communities in Pinus yun-nanensis soils on the Central Yunnan Plateau under nitrogen deposition, and to analyze the correlation between soil microorganisms and soil chemical properties, in order to provide a scientific basis for understanding the trend of changes in nutrient cycling in forest soil ecosystems under nitrogen deposition and observing soil microbiological changes. [Method] The soil of P. yunnanensis forests on the Central Yunnan Plateau was selected as the research object, CO(NH2)2 was used as the N source, and four different gradients were set up for simulated N deposition experiments, including control CK [N 0 g/(m2·a)], low nitrogen LN [N 10 g/(m2·a)], medium nitrogen MN [N 20 g/(m2·a)], and high nitrogen HN [N 25 g/(m2·a)], the structure and diversity of soil bacterial and fungal community were analyzed, and the characteristics of the changes of soil pH, TOC, TN, TP, NH+4-N and NO-3-N were determined. …”

We observed that one unit increase in physical activity level was associated with reduced prenatal depressive symptoms (β = −6.36, p < 0.001), fasting (β = 2.06, p = 0.04), and postprandial blood sugar levels (β = −0.99, p = 0.01), respectively. …”
