Comparison of the conceive-design-implement-operate model and lecture-based learning in teaching the “healthcare-associated infections” course
Published 2025-01-01“…Additionally, preliminary results show that students in the CDIO model scored higher on CEQ categories such as good teaching, clear goals and standards, appropriate assessment, generic skills, and independence, but they also reported an increased workload.ConclusionOur research is the first to apply the CDIO framework to nursing education in HAI courses, enhancing nursing students’ practical application skills, particularly in the sustained retention in this area. …”

Systematic literature review on Calcium Pyrophosphate Deposition (CPPD) nomenclature: condition elements and clinical states— A Gout, Hyperuricaemia and Crystal-Associated Disease...
Published 2025-01-01“…This systematic literature review constituted its first step and aimed to provide a state-of-the-art analysis of the medical literature of the last 20 years. Methods A systematic literature search was undertaken in the PubMed, Cochrane and Embase databases between 2000 and 2022, restricted to studies on humans and in the English language. Eight reviewers independently and manually extracted labels related to CPPD concepts, according to an a priori list generated by the authors: pathogenic conditions and pathogenic crystal labels, elementary imaging condition elements and asymptomatic and symptomatic condition states. …”

Selective JAK2 pathway inhibition enhances anti-leukemic functionality in CD19 CAR-T cells
Published 2025-02-01“…While CD19-targeted CAR-T cells and Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors have independently shown efficacy against certain B-cell leukemias, such as Philadelphia chromosome-like acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the concurrent use of JAK1/2 inhibitors, such as ruxolitinib, has been implicated in reducing CAR-T cell potency by inhibiting the JAK1-dependent T cell activation pathway. …”

Neural Determinants of Sedentary Lifestyle in Older Adults: A Brain Network Analysis
Published 2025-01-01“…ABSTRACT Purpose The prevalence of sedentary lifestyles (SL), which includes both high volumes of extended sitting behavior and a low volume of steps accumulated across the day, among older adults continues to rise contributing to increases in associated comorbidities and the loss of independence. The social, personal, and economic burdens are enormous. …”

Trifarotene alleviates skin photoaging injury by inhibition of JNK/c-Jun/MMPs
Published 2024-09-01“…Trifarotene (3.3 μmol L–1) inhibited phosphorylated JNK and c-Jun expression both independently and collaboratively with the JNK activator anisomycin, demonstrating that trifarotene mitigates UV-induced collagen degradation and apoptosis through inhibition of the JNK/c-Jun/MMPs signaling pathway.…”

In vivo kinematic analysis of failure cases after nonanatomical anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: a preliminary study
Published 2024-12-01“…Femoral rotation of the nonanatomically reconstructed knees showed abnormal kinematics compared with that of the normal and ACL-deficient knees. Conclusions By independently assessing the medial and lateral aspects of the femur, the medial or lateral condyle of the femur of nonanatomically reconstructed knees exhibited a more pronounced abnormality compared with ACL-deficient knees. …”

Dynamic of seismic noise sources in the Mediterranean Sea: implication for monitoring using noise correlations
Published 2024-05-01“…Instead, the goal of this work is to study how the dynamics of the seismic noise affect the possibility of monitoring the evolution of the crust, in particular the temporal resolution and accuracy of the velocity change that can be detected. To that end, we perform a single station analysis at all available European broadband stations in 2021 using a proxy that quantifies the extent to which the frequency content of the noise wavefield is stationary over time, independently of its amplitude variations. We show that at short periods (${<}$3 s), the noise field in Europe is dominated by surface waves coming from the north Atlantic ocean, with also a significant contribution from the Adriatic and Aegean Seas in southern Europe. …”
