The Dynamical Casimir Effect in quasi-one-dimensional Bose condensates: the breathing ring
Published 2024-11-01“…The analytical solution of the time dependent Gross–Pitaevskii equation allows to follow the time evolution of the phonon spectrum and shows that periodic oscillations of the ring radius do not induce modulations in the density profile but give rise to the mixing of clockwise and anticlockwise modes, leading to the creation of pairs of entangled phonons in a squeezed vacuum state, if the drive frequency equals twice the frequency of the phonon mode. The Dynamical Casimir Effect is predicted to occur in the weakly interacting regime, where the Gross–Pitaevskii equation provides a faithful description of the many body dynamics. …”

Revisiting the History and Biogeography of Bactrocera oleae and Other Olive-Feeding Fruit Flies in Africa and Asia
Published 2024-12-01“…Our data suggest that (1) the transition from stenophagy on Oleaceae to oligophagy on Olea most likely occurred in Africa more than 6 million years ago (MYA), and (2) the subsequent transition to monophagy on Olea europaea took place in Asia or in Africa in the Early Pleistocene. Our results support equally the hypotheses that the ancestors of modern B. oleae underwent two waves of migration from Asia to Africa or that they zigzagged between Asia and Africa.…”

Optimizing cluster head selection in wireless sensor networks using firefly and genetics algorithm
Published 2023-03-01“…The results of comparing LEACH and EAMMH protocols and the proposed method in terms of the number of dead nodes compared to the number of execution times based on 50, 100, and 200 nodes indicates that the number of dead nodes for the simulation of LEACH protocol is almost equal to the number of dead nodes for the EAMMH protocol, but the proposed algorithm has approximately 10 percent less dead nodes, but by an increase in the number of nodes (200 nodes) the number of dead nodes have decreased 35 percent and 22 percent compared to LEACH and EAMMH algorithms respectively.…”

Different Views about the Nature of Gender-Related Asymmetries in Tasks Based on Biological or Artefact Categories
Published 2010-01-01“…Drawing in part on this second line of thought, some authors have suggested that gender-related asymmetries might be due to differences in stimulus processing between men and women, namely, to the tendency of females to focus mainly on perceptual features and of males to focus equally on both perceptual and functional features. …”
