Calcium hydroxide nanoparticles induce cell death, genomic instability, oxidative stress and apoptotic gene dysregulation on human HepG2 cells by Hanan R. H. Mohamed, Esraa H. Ibrahim, Shahd E. E. Shaheen, Nesma O. E. Hussein, Ayman Diab, Gehan Safwat

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels were measured using 2,7-dichlorofluorescein diacetate, while the expression level of apoptosis-related genes (p53, Bax, and Bcl-2) were quantified using real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). The SRB cytotoxicity assay revealed that a 48-hour exposure to Ca(OH)2NPs caused concentration-dependent cell death and proliferation inhibition in both HSF and HepG2 cells, with IC50 values of 271.93 µg/mL for HSF and 291.8 µg/mL for HepG2 cells. …”

Age-Stage, Two-Sex Life Table of <i>Leptinotarsa decemlineata</i> (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) Experiencing Cadmium Stress by Bingyu He, Jiebo Zhang, Yang Hu, Yi Zhang, Jianan Wang, Chao Li

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Key population parameters, including the innate rate of increase (r), finite rate of increase (λ), net reproductive rate (R0), and gross reproduction rate (GRR), were evidently lower in cadmium-exposed <i>L. decemlineata</i>, while the average generation time did not show a significant difference. 3. Cadmium exposure also resulted in a remarkable reduction in survival and reproductive rates at specific life stages, along with an increase in the incidence of deformations in newly emerged adults. …”

Positive energy density in topologically charged exponential wormholes and Regge–Wheeler potential by Faizuddin Ahmed, Jaydeep Goswami, Abdelmalek Bouzenada

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Our results demonstrate that the radius of the wormhole throat is consistent with established characteristics of traversable wormholes and is free from singularities. subsequently, we study the Regge–Wheeler (RW) potential in the context of our chosen wormhole background, providing a detail analysis of its implications for spin zero scalar s-waves with multipole number $$\ell =0$$ ℓ = 0 . our analysis shows that the RW potential for spin zero scalar field is influence by the global monopole parameter and the coupling constant, which possesses dimensions inverse to that of length present in the wormhole space-time geometry. This modification has profound implications for the stability and dynamics of scalar perturbations in the vicinity of the wormhole, potentially affecting the stability of the wormhole itself.…”
