Dynamics of competitive systems with a single common limiting factor
Published 2014-11-01“…The concept of limiting factors (or regulating factors) succeeded in formulating the well-known principle of competitive exclusion. This paper shows that the concept of limiting factors is helpful not only to formulate the competitive exclusion principle, but also to obtain other ecological insights. To this end, by focusing on a specific community structure, we study the dynamics of Kolmogorov equations and show that it is possible to derive an ecologically insightful result only from the information about interactions between species and limiting factors.Furthermore, we find that the derived result is a generalization of the preceding work by Shigesada, Kawasaki, and Teramoto (1984), who examined a certain Lotka-Volterra equation in a different context.…”

Neuroimaging: biochemical principles and its application in the cerebrovascular ischemic disease.
Published 2009-07-01“…The need for early diagnosis of acute events to reestablish the cerebral blood flow to reduce neurological sequels, has led to the development of advanced imaging techniques, which allows following the histochemical and morphological changes that take place within the brain in vivo, in a non-invasive way, as well as its development, extent of the cerebral damage and damaged cerebral structures. The present bibliographic review has the objective of supporting the importance of neuroimaging studies in the diagnosis of acute cerebral ischemia.…”

Hardware Trojans detection based on projection pursuit
Published 2013-04-01“…A novel hardware Trojans detection technique using the side channel signals of chips was proposed.Based on the projection pursuit with absolute information divergence index, this technique could find out the data structure enables reflect high dimension special rules without obvious i tion loss,so as to attain the goal of feature abstraction and identification on side channel signals of IC chips. The detection experiment against an exemplary AES-128 hardware Trojan circuit showed that the technique could distinguish the difference of side channel signal's feature between the genuine chip and tested chip, and consequently could detect the existence of the hardware Trojan.…”
