Temporal-spatial Evolution of Drought Characteristics at Different Grades in Yulin by KONG Gang, ZHANG Shanliang, WANG Lu, HUANG Shengzhi, BAI Jueying

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Under the background of climate warming and human activities,Yulin city suffers from frequent drought, which has adverse effect on the agriculture, ecological environment and social economy in this area.Although the adverse effects of drought on the Loess Plateau have attracted the attention of many scholars, there is still a lack of grid and refined spatial and temporal assessment of drought in Yulin City. Therefore, taking Yulin City as the study area, based on the monthly precipitation and soil moisture data with a spatial resolution of 0.25°×0.25°,this paper calculates the standardized precipitation index (SPI) and the standardized soil moisture index (SSMI) on three month scales, identifies the drought characteristic parameters by the run theory, and analyzes the spatial-temporal evolution of drought characteristics at different grades. The results show that:The drought is rigorous in Yulin city.In time,a wet trend appears in spring and winter, while a dry trend in summer. In space, there is a significant dry trend in the southern of Yulin city. There are more than 6 months of long-term precipitation deficit and 12 months of long-term soil moisture deficit in Yulin City, respectively, and the month with consecutive precipitation deficit come earlier than the soil moisture deficit.Areas with high drought frequency are located in the northern, southern and eastern edges of Yulin. The conclusion is of great significance to the drought prevention, social production and ecological environment in Yulin city.…”

Construction of Comprehensive Hydrological and Meteorological Drought Index Based on Base Flow and Precipitation and Its Application in Weihe River by FAN Jingjing, SUN Xue, ZHOU Bin, LIU Dengfeng, LIU Chun, LIN Shuai, LI Yunyun

    Published 2022-01-01
“…,the comprehensive precipitation and base flow index (CPBI),is constructed by the Copula function. Then, the applicability of CPBI is discussed, and the drought characteristics of the Weihe River Basin are analyzed by this index. The results reveal that CPBI can capture both meteorological and hydrological drought events and comprehensively characterize their drought characteristics;CPBI has a downward trend on all scales, which indicates the drought is becoming more serious;upon the identification by the theory of runs,CPBI can more accurately reflect the severe drought situation of the Huaxian station of Weihe River and can better provide early drought warning;CPBI has variations, and the variation points on seasonal and annual scales are 1994,1993,1985,1999,and 1975.In conclusion,CPBI is an effective drought monitoring index for Weihe River and can provide a reference for early drought warning and response efforts in Weihe River.…”

Hardware data race detection algorithm based on sliding windows by Su-xia ZHU, De-yun CHEN, Zhen-zhou JI, Guang-lu SUN

    Published 2016-09-01
“…Data race is a major factor which causes multi-core programs to produce concurrent bugs.To address the high hardware cost in happens-before detection proposals,a light-weight hardware data race detection approach based on sliding window technology was proposed. It used sliding windows to save recent memory instructions in thread execution and dynamically detected data races with small race distance which more easily lead to concurrent bugs.Considering the race distance, parallel thread segments were subdivided into concurrent race regions with lock and concurrent race regions without lock.A pair of alternate rewritable sliding windows was used to store the memory instructions in concurrent race region without lock, and a sliding window with variable size was used to store the memory instructions in concurrent race region with lock. When there was a conflict between a remote sharing access and memory accesses in sliding windows,a data race was detected. In the hardware implementation, the addresses of the data in sliding windows were automatically encoded into three hardware signatures with small size.Data races can be detected quickly without modifying the L1 cache and cache coherence protocol messages. This approach supplies efficient guidance to help users to diagnose concurrency bugs occurred in the development and production run of multi-core programs, achieving smaller hardware and bandwidth overhead.…”
