Revealing what cannot be spoken” – Gabriel Josipovici’s Short Stories as Illustrations of Transcendental Negativity by Werner Wolf

    Published 2014-06-01
“…The present contribution focuses on Josipovici’s short stories and on the remarkable worldview they illustrate, which is characterized by what may be termed ‘transcendental negativity’: although Josipovici’s short fiction is historically aligned with postmodernism, the worldview implied in it features postmodernist scepticism only to a certain extent, for it transcends the negativity of an insistence on our “distance from understanding” by constantly gesturing towards an inscrutable beyond, by “revealing what cannot be spoken.” These “unspeakable” issues refer to central philosophical problems: the liminal experience of death, selfhood, the accessibility of the other and creativity. …”

Single-cell sequencing reveals antitumor characteristics of intratumoral immune cells in old mice by Xin Wang, Lei Lei, Lin Shi, Lianjun Zhang, Xiaobo Zhou, Xiaofeng Yang, Yanhong Su, Cangang Zhang, Kaili Ma, Huiqiang Zheng, Anjun Jiao, Haiyan Liu, Yujing Zou, Chenming Sun, Yuzhu Hou, Zhengtao Xiao, Baojun Zhang

    Published 2021-10-01
“…An in-depth understanding of how old individuals defend against tumor invasion requires further investigations. Methods We revealed age-associated alterations in tumor-infiltrating immune cells between young and old mice using single-cell RNA and coupled T cell receptor (TCR) sequencing analysis. …”

Genomic Scars Generated by Polymerase Theta Reveal the Versatile Mechanism of Alternative End-Joining. by Robin van Schendel, Jane van Heteren, Richard Welten, Marcel Tijsterman

    Published 2016-10-01
“…Analysis of ~7,000 deletion breakpoints and their cognate junctions reveals a distinct order of events. We found that nascent strands blocked at sites of DNA damage can engage in one or more cycles of primer extension using a more downstream located break end as a template. …”

Comprehensive bioinformatics analysis reveals novel potential biomarkers associated with aging and mitochondria in osteoporosis by Ke Bi, Yuxi Chen, Yuhang Hu, Song Li, Weiming Li, Zhange Yu, Lei Yu

    Published 2025-01-01
“…In addition, based on a single-cell dataset from OP, single-cell differentially expressed genes (scDEGs) were identified. The results revealed that aging-related and mitochondria-related genes (AR&MRGs) were enriched in the ERK pathway in tissue stem cells (TSCs), and in mitochondrial membrane potential depolarization in monocytes. …”
