Mechanism of parent-of-origin effects revealed by multi-omic data in euro-chinese hybrid pigs by Chenyu Li, Mei Ge, Keren Long, Ziyin Han, Mingzhou Li, Zhiyan Zhang, Lusheng Huang

    Published 2025-08-01
“…We generate a phased multi-omics resource in hybrid pigs, identifying 10,516 phase-specific gene expressions, 104,708 methylated regions, 132,602 histone modifications, 25,667 CTCF binding sites, and, based on in situ Hi-C, 7884 topologically associated domain boundaries and 8573 chromatin loops. Our results reveal that, although nearly 83% of gene expression differences between parental phases are regulated by DNA methylation, a subset is still influenced by other epigenetic modifications. …”

Excited-state reaction dynamics of the radical anions revealed by time-resolved photofragment depletion spectroscopy by Sejun An, Sang Kyu Kim

    Published 2025-07-01
“…The technique is then extended to CH₃NO₂⁻ and (CH₃NO₂)₂⁻, enabling real-time probing of the excited-state dynamics of their nonvalence-bound states. Our findings reveal that ultrafast internal conversion from a nonvalence orbital to a valence orbital is followed either by prompt chemical bond dissociation or by comparatively slower cluster decomposition. …”

Ancient genomes in Southwest China revealed genetic interactions among diverse populations in the historical period by Wen Wan, Huangzhen Huang, Changguo Hu, Xinglong Zhang, Qingting Zhou, Meiqing Yang, Jianxin Guo, Mingxia Xie, Kongyang Zhu, Xiaomin Yang, Hao Ma, Rui Wang, Jing Zhao, Le Tao, Haifeng He, Qun Zhang, Li Jin, Bisu Zhou, Jiang Huang, Chuan-Chao Wang

    Published 2025-07-01
“…Results Here, we report genome-wide data of eight ancient individuals from the Songshan site in Guizhou dating back to the Song and Ming Dynasty. Our results reveal that most Songshan individuals are closely related to the Yellow River Basin farmers, while also showing significant genetic influences from southern East Asia, including affinities with ancients in Guangxi, coastal Fujian, and Southeast Asia. …”
