Digital Representation of Patients as Medical Digital Twins: Data-Centric Viewpoint by Stanislas Demuth, Jérôme De Sèze, Gilles Edan, Tjalf Ziemssen, Françoise Simon, Pierre-Antoine Gourraud

    Published 2025-01-01
“…We argue that a single digital representation of patients cannot support all the data uses of digital twins for technical and regulatory reasons. Instead, we propose a data architecture leveraging three main families of digital representations: (1) multimodal dashboards integrating various raw health records at points of care to assist with perception and documentation, (2) virtual patients, which provide nonsensitive data for collective secondary uses, and (3) individual predictions that support clinical decisions. …”

Potential of germanium-based compounds in coronavirus infection by NAROKHA VIOLETTA, NIZHENKOVSKA IRYNA, KUZNETSOVA OLENA

    Published 2022-06-01
“…Germanium-based compounds have shown the ability to influence the replication of various DNA/RNA viruses, stimulate the body’s natural resistance, prevent the development of metabolic intoxication of various origin, increase the efficacy of vaccines, and prevent the development of excessive accumulation of reactive oxygen species, which plays a decisive role in the development of inflammatory response caused by a viral infection. It seems reasonable to say that germanium-based complex compounds effectively contribute to the preservation of high--energy bonds in the form of ATP, optimize the activity of metabolic processes by re-oxygenation, and exhibit antimicrobial activity. …”

Estimation of the crack propagation direction in a mixed-mode geometry via multi-parameter fracture criteria by L. Malíková, V. Veselý, S. Seitl

    Published 2015-07-01
“…The direction of crack propagation is estimated semianalytically using both the maximum tangential stress criterion and the strain energy density criterion (implemented as a procedure within the used finite element computational code) as well as numerically (from verification reasons). Multi-parameter fracture mechanics is employed in the presented work for precise analytical evaluation of the stress field in the cracked specimen. …”

Analysis of Index Decomposition of Capture Ratio of Total Annual Runoff Volume in Sponge Cities by WEN Dawen, YANG Jiantao, WANG Sen, LIU Jin, WANG Bin

    Published 2023-01-01
“…One of the important goals of sponge city construction is to reduce the discharge of rainwater runoff and the local consumption and utilization of rainwater runoff within the plot. The discharge volume of rainwater runoff is reflected by the capture ratio of the total annual runoff volume. How to scientifically and reasonably determine the capture ratio of total annual runoff volume has been the main exploration content in the process of sponge city construction in recent years. This study took the Guangzhou Science and Education City area as an example, utilized the data of the underlying surface and drainage pipe network of the plot, and used the volumetric method to decompose the capture ratio of total annual runoff volume. At the same time, the Infoworks ICM model was used to simulate and verify the rationality of the decomposition of the capture ratio of the total annual runoff volume for each plot. The results show that after the development and construction of each plot according to the planned capture ratio of the total annual runoff volume, the drainage pipe network of the plot meets the 10-year return period of design.Under the condition of precipitation once in 100 years, there is water accumulation in some areas, but no waterlogging occurs.Research has shown that the capture ratio of the total annual runoff volume of each plot determined through decomposition can be used to guide the development and construction of the plot. The construction of sponge cities can effectively reduce rainwater discharge and enhance regional disaster prevention and reduction capabilities.…”
